Most of them have over 10K posts simply because of how long they've been around.

I agree that postcount has nothing to do with it. I got Elite around 5-7k and then custom title (Chief Ferengi then Grand Nagus) a while later.

What kind of kneepads did you need for the special title and did you post where you got them in the Hot Deals forum?

That reminded me of something that happened this morning...

Co-worker turned on his computer and the HDD let out a screaming noise and the computer stopped. I later described it as "The sound a baby makes if you kick it." Which, of course, led inevitably to the entire office pondering just how I know what kind of sound a baby makes when you kick it. Curse my colourful descriptions.

I remember back in the day, when a bunch of us ordered a hot deal from Buy.com. It was the Hitachi 19" monitors, which they mispriced, but still shipped to a few. I guess, when everyone was threatening to sue, I jumped on the bandwagon. Soon after, I found that my title had changed to elite. I guess they like litigious people around here.
