kinda like the good ol' boy system. basically means you can skirt the rules and insult other users without fear of getting bounced out of here. that's about the extent of it. at one time there were a few useful ones that actually helped folks, but i think they all left.

there are several on here, cannot think of who, that have less than 10k posts.

I honestly would like to know what/why some get it though. I have been on here for going on 5 years and i still have not figured it out yet either.... any more than you have to be helpful... but other than that, i don't know.

Most of them have over 10K posts simply because of how long they've been around.

I got it around 1500 posts, so I've made 32K since then.

I agree that postcount has nothing to do with it. I got Elite around 5-7k and then custom title (Chief Ferengi then Grand Nagus) a while later.
