I dunno why being made of dark matter is important. I suppose if the end result of a living thing passing away is an increase in the dark matter of the universe that would have some eventual effect in a gravitational sense. We'd be dark matter factories. Maybe in your hypothetical universe that would be all we are really for. Sentience might just be a by product of the biological machinery required for dark matter synthesis?

You'll be amazed when you start talking to some people about the subject and they actually tell you that they do believe in it.
