2)doom 3- great, farcry -great, UT2k4 great, Quake 4 WTF (no offence to quake its just that people still play quake 3 and look at quake 4 some people hate it)if anyone knows a great game that came (pc) out in 2006 name it
3)too expensive. look at it this way u can play the same games in $500 console
itll be a matter of time before it (the industry) stops
1) There are game out right now that run just fine with one video card. Even with "only one video card" they still look 5 times better than console games.
2) 2006 is not even 1/4 the way through. Most game manufacturers release their games mid to late in the year when buying power is higher. People are out of school and want a game to play... the holidays are coming... etc. Wait and see.
3) You can play the same game on a $500 console... but it just doesn't look as good, IMHO. I'm a fan of console games, but PCs are leaving them in the dust. What happens in 4 years when the same consoles are reaching the end of thier marketability? They have 4 year old game quality while PCs are still within the year.
What makes up 90% of the cake is that PCs may be expensive... but the average person already has a computer or already needs a powerful computer for the things they do. The ability to play high-end games is really an added bonus for many people. I really don't dump anymore than a few hundred into my PC every year (unless I build a new one.) and the only qualms I have with it is that more console games aren't put on PC and most console controllers don't work too well on a PC... I'm still wanting to give using a 360 controller on a PC a whirl.
