$2000= is not worth for games

It does other things too ;)

yeah, i'd like to see him post this stupid thread from his xbox 360

Or use Photoshop to restore old family photos, or write code, or record multitrack audio and then process it, or capture a VHS tape and convert it to DVD, et cetera.

besides look the rate of good games on pc is decreasing.

if the PS3 doesn't come out this year then comparing the 360 lineup to PC

the games coming out on both with look better if you have a 7900gt (which is what 300 now) on the PC, otherwise the console may be better

there was a thread a month or two back about the PC exclusive games for 2006

that list is much better then the 2006 console list

I'm strictly a PC gamer. I haven't enjoyed console games in many years. Actually... the only console I still occasionally use is an Atari 2600. I know there are millions like me... who shun consoles... so me trying to think about "what if" PC gaming died is completely and totally pointless. It'll never happen.

I doubt console will kill PC gaming. There is just too much you can do on PC that you cannot do on console. Though I did love the fishing rod for Dreamcast :)

I'm the same way, newest console I own is a Nintendo 64 collecting dust in the basement, and I think I'm going to ebay it. One big thing in PC gaming's favor is the huge popularity burst of the MMORPG genre; the logistics of implementing & maintaining games of this nature heavily favor the PC. Further, the genre attracts many people who are new to gaming; people who likely already own a PC but not a console.

Regardless, it's funny to see all the kiddies spouting off about this for the ~12 months surrounding a console release. I remember seeing the same thing around the xbox/ps2 release as well. Get back to me in 2 years, Sport (when you're 14). Tell me how great the xbox 2 is in comparison to current hardware then. Tell me how great it will be for the 3 years after that, because that's how long it'll be around before the xbox 3 is released.

The cherry on top is how the OP's sig looks like something from an AOL chatroom, leaving no doubt as to his age & intelligence level.

Modern consoles are just proprietary non-upgradable computers. Which has its pluses and minuses. I sold my xbox/ps2/gamecube because it just wasn't worth having them.

The only advantage that I see for consoles is the ability to rent games, and use services like gamefly. But now that I'm not a poor high schooler or college student, I can buy whatever PC games that I want, and then sell them for like half price if I decide to get rid of them.
