I dunno about you but my first gear has no synchro so I can't put it in first unless I stop.

Or you just double clutch and rev-match. It's not rocket science you know.

I tried that and it didn't work (I'm a n00b).

The tranny on that 1500 has to be toast to. If the driveshaft sheared like that I can only image what the tranny went through.

shifting to reverse isnt the same as downshifting (to a lower gear, obviously)

for stick, the synchros would help prevent downshifting into a wrong gear... unless you double-clutch.. but putting it into reverse from a forward gear wouldnt be possible because of the reverse lock-out... or maybe unless ur car is from the 1950s or something
