I'd say PS2 simply because of GTA Vice City. I'm almost considering buying that console just to play that game.

Undoubtedly,

Indesputably,

Irrefutably,

PS2, GC, XBOX. Me and a billion other people in line today had a Cube in hand. One or two dorks had an Xbox.

Maybe its lost on people here, but most people couldnt give a rats ass about online gaming. I certainly dont, the people I hang out with dont. I personally couldnt tell the difference between Halo and Bond (they both suck IMO). My first online game ever was Warcraft 3, which was pretty good, but got boring playing against faceless opponents.

Whats the big deal with Xbox? All the games for the system I can already get on my PS2, and play with controller that doesnt double as a medieval torture device. OTOH, I need a gamecube for Resident Evil, Metroid and...

laugh all you want baby, if it helps you.

From whats circulating, and what Ive seen in stores, it looks like the GC is at LEAST keeping pace in this territory, surpassing in Europe, and demolishing in Japan.

Do those numbers add up for you, you raging bitch?

Ummm...and what numbers would that be?
Since, once again, your latest post is HEAVY on troll, but LIGHT on proof.

If reading the entire thread is too difficult for you (your lips prolly get tired having to mouth out the words), here's a couple of quotes from earlier in this thread which lie at the heart of the matter:
Xbox enjoyed its finest month for hardware during November according to NPD. Partly fueled by the launch of Xbox Live, Xbox was able to outsell competitor GameCube for the seventh month in a row with the Xbox Holiday bundle (Xbox, Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future) outselling GameCube and the Super Mario Sunshine bundle by 131 percent. Moreover, Microsoft reports that Xbox sold 34 percent more titles than GameCube since release, with titles such as Splinter Cell, a game with a quarter of a million units sold worldwide, leading the way.
and
Xbox is the second top selling console in Europe according to ChartTrack and GFK; with the system outselling GameCube by two to one. In Australia Microsoft reports that Xbox and PlayStation 2?s market gap is only 4 percent, with the Xbox market share doubling to 46 percent over the past eight weeks.
If all that is too much to take in...I'm sure your mommy can help explain it if you ask her.

Yeah well at *my* store I saw about 50 gazillion people with xboxes and only 1 or 2 nerds with GC's in hand!

Please....like this statement has any credibility.

Most people couldn't give a rats ass about online gaming? Speak for yourself!

Can't tell the difference between Halo and Bond? Are you BLIND? Did you actually play through Halo? My god.

Your first online game was WC3? Well that explains it.

Out of three system available, I ended up getting a Gamecube. None of the other systems seemed to offer anything I wanted. PS2 I would never get, since I don't really like Sony and there aren't any games that I like for the system (i hate GTA - I honestly don't understand why people like it). FFX didn't seem like much fun when I watched my friend play it and neither did Kingdom Hearts. And other than that, i can't think of any PS2 games i'd want to play.
Xbox looks nice and is a powerful system, and i'm sure Xbox Live will do great in the future. But again, no games for it that i want to play. And like half the ones that are released for the system come out for a PC anyway, so I don't see the point.
I got a GC cause the system is damn cute, its cheaper than the other, the graphics are a lot better than the PS2 and almost up there with the xbox, and it offers titles that I just can't get anywhere else. Seemed like the right choice for me.

Well, I didnt have to call mom up to read this report:

http://cube.ign.com/articles/380/380790p1.html

Hmm, gameboy advance, wouldnt really count it as a console, but it is selling as well as the PS2.

What the hell do I have to do? Take pictures of the lines at the 2 best buys, 1 EBworld, and 1 walmart that I went to to get a Super Mario Sunshine combo pack?????

In addition, I could NOT find a copy of metroid prime anywhere. This mother with three kids had two kids waiting near the case crying "metriod is my game" while she found a sales associate to open up the damn thing in walmart.

Xbox is going to get schooled. I dont think Little Timmy knows WTF the internet is, much less online gaming. And there are a lot more Little Timmys these days. Call me a troll, do whatever the hell you want, but dont bring your Xbox failure insecurities into this.

Need I mention the overseas charts? http://www.the-magicbox.com/topten.htm

I cant find the europe chart I read....

Yeah, I've played the demo on PC.. thats why I don't want an xbox, the good games just come out on PC. :)

oniq, I agree w/ your statement, I'm a PS2 owner [I love the games I own, and have no regrets] and was looking at buying an XBox for Halo & SC, but since they are going to be released on the PC, I'm going to stick w/ what I currently have.

I bought an XBox for Christmas. Thats where my vote goes.
I did buy a game cube about 4 months ago and I have no plans to buy a Playstation 2.

I picked up a GC during the $25 rebate offer last week- makes the console even cheaper, but it kinda worries me at the same time since it may indicate a weakness in sales here in N. America. But man, my platinum GC looks a lot more bling than I thought it would. As far as I know, GC and Xbox sales are pretty close in N. America, GC leads over Xbox in Japan by far, but lags behind Xbox in Europe and Australia?. I'm not sure as to total worldwide sales for those two consoles. Of course, the PS2 destroys the sales of both the GC and Xbox. I may end up picking up an xbox next year if/when the price drops... the idea of high def. halo/splinter cell/dvds etc with the high def pack is too attractive. But the biggest reason that I chose the GC now over the Xbox now is, the price- those two games that are bundled with the Xbox now don't really appeal to me and I wish they had just offered a cash rebate or a straight up discount instead. Didn't consider the PS2 since my roommate has one.

In most college campuses, the Gamecube seems to be REALLY popular, i dunno why, but that's just how it is.

Personally I would still take my ps2 for the overall package, followed by GC for metroid prime. Xbox just seems like such a huge, clunky waste of space for an extremely bottlenecked system.

I'd be more interested in an unbiased report with some straight numbers so we could draw our own conclusions.
But the Nintendo article AND the Xbox article are pretty equally skewed toward their own respective viewpoints.

Uhhhh...maybe GBA is not a console BECAUSE IT'S A HANDHELD.
rolleye.gif

Nintendo enjoys a monopoly on the handheld market, since no one else makes a handheld system at all.

However, if Nintendo is claiming the GBA numbers as part of their overall numbers, then that just all the more proves how badly the GC is getting whipped by the Xbox.

Really, the fight is for the #2 spot this generation, since the market has proven time after time that there is really no room for a third console.

Xbox wins this area hands-down over its competition.

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the following games:

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Soul Calibur II (oh man oh man OH MAN!)
CS: Condition Zero
Perfect Dark Zero
Ninja Gaiden
Starcraft: Ghost

and, of course...
Halo 2 :D
How could you forget Midtown Madness 3?
Uhhhh...I'm not an uber-driving fan, maybe? :p

Seriously tho...for the driving fans:

Lamborghini
Lotus Challenge
Mercedes-Benz World Racing
Midtown Madness 3
Project Gotham Racing 2
Rallisport 2

These games are really solid. Cant beat a console, unless you have game support. You can create the best gaming console ever created, and without the games to go with it, its nothing. Hence why im confident in owning my XBOX. You cant go wrong with Microsoft.

But if im wrong, i'll just plug in my PS2............

Bought an Xbox at launch so I could easily troll for the Xbox.

Bought a Japanese PS2 in April to play XenoSaga and Virtual Fighter 4 (don't want anything on the American PS2) so I could easily troll for the PS2.

Bought a Gamecube last month for Metroid Prime and Super Monkey Ball 2 so I could troll for the Gamecube if I so felt like it..

Hmm... this is a tought choice. It seems like the Gamecube trolls need to be ovely dedicated and have tunnel vision so I don't think I'd fit well in that group. The Xbox trolls are out numbering the others in this thread so they don't really need my help. What's there to argue about for the PS2? Everyone else agrees that they are selling first. Besides, these are American sales they are talking about and I don't even have an American PS2. Decisions decisions. I guess I should go with the Xbox. So...

Xbox rulz! PS2 and Gamecube suck! AHAHAHAHAHA.

Sincerely,
Xbox Troll

Heres something I have been thinking.

WHY is it that no one has come up with a program to play X-Box games on the PC?

Think about it. The X-Box is a computer (nForce chipset, ram, hard drive, etc..) and has Microsofts OS on it.

Maybe someone is trying ot make something like this? I don't know. Just thought I would through it out there

No way! I bought a Ps2 at launch and it died 1-2 months back and I sold it with a failed controller port 1 (yeah I told the seller!) and took the proceeds towards an Xbox. The original large Xbox controller is CRAP. Really crappy, but the new S one that comes with the console is just as good as the PS2 really. They're basically the same controller.

True, but since I live in North America that doesn't much matter to me :p

Hehe, my brother at his apartment in 4th year they have 2 xboxs and an N64. Xbox is the only current gen they play and they system link them.

Personally I'd guess that the Ps2 is probably the most popular on campus since it's been out a while with more games, but gamecube I'd be VERY surprised to hear it was the most popular on campus. Afterall college kids don't really want to sit around and play mario party or pokemon.
