Maybe its lost on people here, but most people couldnt give a rats ass about online gaming. I certainly dont, the people I hang out with dont. I personally couldnt tell the difference between Halo and Bond (they both suck IMO). My first online game ever was Warcraft 3, which was pretty good, but got boring playing against faceless opponents.
Whats the big deal with Xbox? All the games for the system I can already get on my PS2, and play with controller that doesnt double as a medieval torture device. OTOH, I need a gamecube for Resident Evil, Metroid and...

Zelda.
Ummm...and what numbers would that be?Originally posted by: Gunnar
laugh all you want baby, if it helps you.
From whats circulating, and what Ive seen in stores, it looks like the GC is at LEAST keeping pace in this territory, surpassing in Europe, and demolishing in Japan.
Do those numbers add up for you, you raging bitch?
andXbox enjoyed its finest month for hardware during November according to NPD. Partly fueled by the launch of Xbox Live, Xbox was able to outsell competitor GameCube for the seventh month in a row with the Xbox Holiday bundle (Xbox, Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future) outselling GameCube and the Super Mario Sunshine bundle by 131 percent. Moreover, Microsoft reports that Xbox sold 34 percent more titles than GameCube since release, with titles such as Splinter Cell, a game with a quarter of a million units sold worldwide, leading the way.
If all that is too much to take in...I'm sure your mommy can help explain it if you ask her.Xbox is the second top selling console in Europe according to ChartTrack and GFK; with the system outselling GameCube by two to one. In Australia Microsoft reports that Xbox and PlayStation 2?s market gap is only 4 percent, with the Xbox market share doubling to 46 percent over the past eight weeks.
PS2 buy a huge margin, then cube, then xbox.
Yeah well at *my* store I saw about 50 gazillion people with xboxes and only 1 or 2 nerds with GC's in hand!PS2, GC, XBOX. Me and a billion other people in line today had a Cube in hand. One or two dorks had an Xbox.

I'd be more interested in an unbiased report with some straight numbers so we could draw our own conclusions.Originally posted by: Gunnar

The current and near-future is ALL about online gaming for consoles, folks.
Xbox wins this area hands-down over its competition.
I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the following games:
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Soul Calibur II (oh man oh man OH MAN!)
CS: Condition Zero
Perfect Dark Zero
Ninja Gaiden
Starcraft: Ghost
and, of course...
Halo 2![]()
Seriously tho...for the driving fans:
Lamborghini
Lotus Challenge
Mercedes-Benz World Racing
Midtown Madness 3
Project Gotham Racing 2
Rallisport 2
No way! I bought a Ps2 at launch and it died 1-2 months back and I sold it with a failed controller port 1 (yeah I told the seller!) and took the proceeds towards an Xbox. The original large Xbox controller is CRAP. Really crappy, but the new S one that comes with the console is just as good as the PS2 really. They're basically the same controller.Originally posted by: littlegohan
the xbox's controller is a total pos (even the smaller version)
The ps2 controller is alot better
True, but since I live in North America that doesn't much matter to meX-box only sell in North AMerica, lol.
It isn't going anywhere in the rest of the world.
Hehe, my brother at his apartment in 4th year they have 2 xboxs and an N64. Xbox is the only current gen they play and they system link them.In most college campuses, the Gamecube seems to be REALLY popular, i dunno why, but that's just how it is.
Personally I would still take my ps2 for the overall package, followed by GC for metroid prime. Xbox just seems like such a huge, clunky waste of space for an extremely bottlenecked system.
