The only "fun" stuff I've bought in a looong time is the crossbow I recently got. I guess the winch also, but that's weird convergence of fun, need, and money maker. Otherwise, it's food and household necessities.
Last month I did pick up a Steam Deck when they were on sale for $320. If it will get me using an OS other than windows it will be worth the money. I've also set it up with emudeck so a ton of content is available if you're willing to do the work.

I'm soldering circuit boards and this is a rude reminder that I'm getting old. My eye sight to see small things is not as good as it used to be. I shouldn't be struggling this bad with TO92 packages, it's not even SMD! To be fair, the footprint I used is really not great, there's really not much solder mask between the pins so keep causing bridging. I will use a better footprint next time. These are not driving much current, can get away with a smaller annular ring.

When I do SMD I think I will opt to get the manufacturer to pick and place them for me.
