The twins take the school bus and today only one of them made it home. Apparently the girl fell asleep in the bus but the boy didn't notice until the bus left. So I drive to the school to pick up girl since SOP is to return kid to school if they miss their stop. I get a call from my wife that the girl was home since the bus driver was nice enough to drive her back to her regular stop. I had to drop off a call for nothing.

Quicken pushed an update this morning. It broke bank downloads. I had to completely uninstall Quicken, delete the Quicken directory, and re-install. It seems to work now.

Why would Quicken do updates on a holiday weekend?

Should have got $$$ from a transfer deposited into my bank account today, but since it's a holiday it was no dice :| I understand banks are closed on holidays. But the transfer's automatic, so why the hell don't they go thru on holidays or weekends? Do the servers for the banks get shut down on holidays and weekends? It makes no damn sense.

Also, electronic transfers should be sent seconds after they're done, not 24-48 hours and paused for weekends. If I buy shit it comes out of my account instantly.

Transfers don't process on days the Fed is closed.

Due to an astronomical increase in fraud, transfers may take 3 - 5 business days, or more in some cases to complete.

The sun makes everything worse outside, especially this time of year. Seems like no matter which direction you face, the sun's in your eyes.

Now you’re bitching about winter!
That's my only complaint with winter. Well, ironically, also the lack of sun, or at least cloudy daylight. Winter's the best time for treework, but sometimes there isn't enough light in a weekend to get a job done. Makes it harder when you're a part timer.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and they didn't have any strawberries (except the expensive organic ones). So I went to another store down the street and they were selling regular strawberries for $8/lb. WTF?!

The Republicans slapped a 25% sales tax (tariff) on Mexican fruit. In addition, Mexican farmers and truckers have been blockading ports of entry in Sonora to protest Mexican government policies. The ports they are blocking are the major produce transfer points to the U.S. for Mexican produce.

My new drill press had a first world problem - 37/64" hole in 304 stainless. It did its job, but I could sense the sadness radiating from it.

This is an fwp and an fww(FirstWorldWin). I took a big drink of coffee, and it hit my throat wrong, and I started coughing. Instead of blowing it all over my monitor, I got it all back in the cup. Didn't spill a drop. My nose tastes like coffee now.

Got kicked out at a food bank for confronting a queue jumper.

No one speaks up for injustices.. which is why the bullies can just bully harder.

Back when I had ads on my website, I would get ads for scientific super toys. I loved when people clicked those as they paid more than a dollar per click.
