Never did a test that way but heard it's a nightmare. All the crap they want you to do that completely invades your privacy. I'd probably setup a separate machine for their invasive software though. Maybe a laptop, then do it in the bathroom or something just so it's outside your main office.

Fuck all that shit. They should send you a laptop with their approved bullshit, and you send it back when the course is done. I doubt they're checking the couch for coins after counting the tuition fees.

Get your stuff, ancient laptop that can barely actually manage to display an image, you're getting called up to the majors.
True story: I once managed to take the Linux Foundation exam on a N2840 (I think) laptop. Was fully expecting it to freeze especially when the proctor asked me to show a 360 degree sweep of my room. But it was surprisingly ok. The exam itself? I studied up on the theory but had not practiced the commands and that's what the whole exam was about. It was deceptive of them to sell me a course that had only one PDF about the format of the exam and I somehow overlooked that and just concentrated on everything else in the course bundle which did not say anything about how the exam would be like. I was expecting MCQ format. And I had decided to wait a whole year for it so I could do it in my annual vacation so the retry was in a week. Except my spinal disc broke so I had to forfeit the next exam. $1500 down the drain.

You can thank the third world countries for that. They have institutes that guarantee you a CCNA or MCSE (or whatever it's called now) as long as you pay for their course. Then they let one of their "experts" take the exam on your behalf and you are certified!

I tried updating Tor(guardian project) on android today, and it took foreveeeeeer. It was like I was on a janky dialup connection with abraded wet lines rubbing against a tree. I bet I initiated a connection 50 times. I'd get a handful of data, and it would timeout and quit. Not sure what's going on. Getting hammered? ddos?

I haven't had Tor on android for a long while, but I recently installed it again cause reasons. Just seems prudent at this time.

fucking Lexus didn't put homelink on the UX250H... Apparently it's optional.

My 2006 MB E350 4 Matic had it. All the other 2024 cars we looked at had it.

I'm thinking about leasing a C-series 4matic. What do you think? Any "necessary" extras I should get?

BTW, when I say "thinking about" it means just that. I've only got about 50k on my Civic Si so I'm in no hurry.
This is Canada, our insurance rates are nuts. But then it is 2M Liability coverage.
I always max out my coverage plus I have 2M umbrella policy.

MBs are expensive to repair, but if you are leasing it, chances are it is covered so you should be ok. I wouldn't get anything extra since you are leasing.

I had this issue and MB refused to cover it. Americans got the court to make MB cover it but that doesn't include Canada.

I bought a Meta Quest 3S today because I'm 1stworld "poor" and couldn't afford the higher-end 3. Redditors carry on and on about how big of a downgrade it is over the 3, with a bunch claiming it's borderline terrible. So my 1st VR experience won't be optimum. :|

I do notice a lot of the people on Reddit are drama queens, so I'm thinking it won't be the 3rdworld VR experience they're telling me to prepare myself for.

AND... it only has 128GB of storage which can't be expanded. WHAT THE FUCK! 128GB's pathetic, what is this shit 2010?

Wondered why my electric bill was so high the last few months. Finally dug out a few and compared them. They hiked the Facilities Charge $10/mo in November. This is the base rate that they don't really tell you what it includes.

I don't even know what I pay for energy. I have budget billing, so the estimated bill is averaged out, and I prepay $500 at a time. All I know is it's <$1k/yr.

Per KwHr is 11.8 cents. That's double what it was when I moved here 25 years ago.

Bill has been in the $60-70 range for 350-400 KwHrs, but suddenly jumped that $10 without notice or explanation.

I hate all these BS fees. I pay more in those than in actual usage. At least with gas most of the bill is based on actual usage. I'm actually like $300 in the green right now because of the wood stove, so I'll probably end up getting no bills all summer. I suspect my rate will end up being under $100 next winter.

Most of my bills go up by at least $10/mo each year. Water bill is ridiculous now, it actually surpassed the gas bill. Up to $126/mo now. Used to be like $60 10 years ago.

I'm about $25/month for water. Dunno what the cost per gallon is. I don't feel like logging in to parse it out. Stuff like that, I just pay. I conserve everything as much as possible, so there's not much point in worrying about the charge. Not like I'm gonna quit using water or energy.

I like to see how I'm superior to everyone else :^D

Winter's when I really dominate due to the woodstove. My superiority much more modest in the summer. I'm only about 20% better than efficient neighbors then. The calculation's changed a bit too. I didn't do quite as well this past warm season. I used be 30%+. Might be more people getting solar. I won't do that cause of my trees.

I always like to look at that too, for natural gas I'm doing well now. For hydro, not so much. This summer I'll be installing a 1kw solar array so that might help a bit, at least in the summer months.

Need to get my roof redone this summer and will hire that out, tempting to add solar panels to it while it's being done or at least mounts. Maybe the roofers will do it, easier to do while the shingles are off as it's easier to find the rafters.

Whatever happened to solar shingles? Did they give up on that concept? I remember a bunch of years ago, they had flexible solar shingles that looked promising, but I never really heard about it again.

Took my saws out today, brought them inside, and one leaked some fuel on a case of MREs. I'll need to see what's going on with that. Probably crud on on an Oring.

That's not the problem. The problem is I thought "Maybe I should buy more MREs", and went to amazon. I used to be big into them, and knew who the best maker was, but I can't remember anymore. The ones I have now are sopacko. The other choices are ameriqual, and wornick. Not sure which I should get, or if I should get any at all. Decision paralysis :^/
