Just got new tires on my tundra. Halfway home my check tire light comes on. I can watch the pressure gauge going down. Barely made it home. Shot some windex around the new tpms/valve stem. Bubbling like crazy. Now tommorow i get to drive an hour back to costco to get it fixed.

It's windy as shit here today, and the power just had a 20 second outage, but then when it came back, the Internet was out, and a wider Comcast service outage is underway. The horror.

Ha, spoke too soon... Appears everything is back. Scary 5 minutes there - thought I'd have to find some non-internet thing to do.

My car's been sitting in the drive way since 2020, I got it running yesterday, but the tires were about 8psi, I don't have an air compressor. But I have a rechargeable small portable inflator. It's meant for bike tires and beach balls and shit. If I was smart I would have put 10psi in each and drove it to the gas station.

It was SLOW, like almost a minute per PSI, it also gets hot if you run it continuously so you have to let it rest every 6 or so minutes for a minute or 2. Which really isn't that bad because after maybe 12 minutes the battery is dead any ways. And it takes 3+ hours to charge, 1 charge might last for putting 15psi in a car tire so I charged it twice. It took me damn near 8 hours to air up all the tires, and none were above 27psi lol. This thing's money for my electric scooter, but yeah not ideal for a car at all unless you just need to put a few PSI in a single tire.

But in a pinch when you have nothing else to use, these things are lifesavers. Using it on car tires (18") when they're close to flat will be an all afternoon thing. Also realizing AFTER I was finished that putting just enough psi in each to get somewhere with an air compressor would have been the way to do it made me depressed.

And ironically, if I had ordered a decent one with same day shipping off Amazon I probably could have had this done faster lol.

Someone gave me a paper check. My main bank only accepts check deposits via their app, which I refuse to load. So I had to deposit the check at my backup bank. Now the backup bank is dragging its feet on applying the funds to the account so I can transfer the loot to my main bank where I earn interest. I'm literally losing pennies a day. :(

That's dumb that they require an app just to deposit a cheque. Seems so much stuff is going that route now, really annoying.

If they don't have ATM that accept cheque nor a bank teller you can pester, how else can you do it?

The same bank used to allow deposits via uploaded photos to their website. They got rid of the feature when they rolled out the app. Data mining is more important than customer service.

A teller or an ATM? That is such a basic thing at banks now days. If it's some sort of no frills bank that has no tellers I would expect the ATM to at least be able to do it.

Pulled the tire off and brought it back the next day. Had an appt for 145 to get it fixed. Dropped it off around noon. Didnt get fixed till after 4. Pretty shitty customer service to take that long to fix their mistake.

The local shop by me schedules appointments as well. I've had "appointments" for an oil change where I drop the car off before noon and they still can't perform the oil change before they close at 8:00, so the car has to stay overnight.

I'm not sure what the point of an appointment is if you are not going to do the service at that specified time.

I had to turn off my solar inverter. The idle draw is higher than what I produce at this time of year. Panels are now snow/ice covered and days are super short now and also very dark. Will probably turn it back on in like May when the days get longer again. They still produce enough to eventually bring the battery bank back to fully charged but not more than that.

I do eventually want to automate turning the inverter on/off but just has not been a priority. There are some times in winter where we do get sun where it would maybe actually produce usable power for that day.

I have both. If I am getting up in the morning to a cold house I use the gas furnace since I can just do it from my phone and the heat is faster, if I'm already up and want more heat I use the wood stove. Wood stove is free other than the gas for the truck, but I would be going in the bush anyway whether or not I'm getting firewood so I hardly count that as a cost. Chainsaw is electric and I use expired vegetable oil for the bar oil so it's basically free to run. Already seeing big savings. I may not have enough dry wood this year though, I will be better prepared next year as I'll have a better idea how much wood I need. I'm already through close to a face cord.

How is boxing still a sport? This is the trashiest picture I have seen in months, if not years.
