That's the exact same joke people at my workplace keep telling me. Everyone wants my stash of PC stuff. Nobody cares if I live. Everyone will burst with glee if I leave them something in a will. So sad. This life. Of a PC hoarder.

So I had to relocate my hose a while back and finally got around to testing it as the weather is now above freezing. It works, but the pressure is garbage. Normally I can shoot the water very far and now it just falls in front of me, like an old man peeing. No idea if it's an issue with the actual hose silcock or what but something is restricting flow in the system. It may also have to do with the fact that I'm using the crimp pex system and by nature those fittings do restrict flow a lot, but the other hose used that system too... so I don't know why the pressure is super suxor. If I want to fill 55 gal drums for camp with that it's going to take like a day just to fill one. Going to be faster to use the submersible pump and get lake water but was hoping to use clean house water as much as I can.

Can sort of relate. After getting the sprinklers going this year this one in particular kept getting clogged up with ... bugs of all things. Thought it went bad and replaced it. Same thing happened with the next. Big, juicy bugs. Seems to have finally stopped, though.

I was at BJs yesterday. Coming out of the store, I see a guy move his shopping cart into the pregnant mothers parking space. As he gets into his car, it starts rolling away behind him. I'm like, "Yes, karma! He's gonna back into it."

But it kept rolling and I grabbed it and put it in the corral. As I walked behind his car while he was backing up he beeped at me. I keep thinking how I should have just parked it right behind his car so he backed into it.

I usually download flac and transcode to q8 vorbis to save space. It sounds great on everything I use, and allows another transcode for specialty purposes without badly degrading the audio. I'm thinking of switching to opus, and have decision paralysis regarding bitrate. I can shave a few mb using a similar setting I use for vorbis, or go another step down and cut another couple mb off. Both sound great, but you only get one chance to do it right. Also, my file manager doesn't show the embedded artwork as a thumbnail with opus. Does that matter? Not really, but it's kind of nice.

I was trying to avoid upgrading my NAS for a while and trying to squeeze what little space I had left, then gave in and did it. $2,500 later I'm not low on disk space anymore and will probably be good for another 10 years. Some of the drives I pulled out had been in there for at least that long. When you think about it, in a world where everything is built down to a price, mechanical hard drives are probably one of the most technologically advanced things we have in our home. The fact that they are so precise and more or less durable and priced at a point where a normal person can buy many of them is quite a feat.

The data density that can be stored in one is also pretty crazy when you look back even just 20 years ago where a 10GB drive was fairly common, I think you could maybe get 120GB sooner or later around that era, but multi TB drives were unheard of.

My first "big" drive was a 120GB I paid ~$1/GB for. I didn't think I'd ever need anything bigger. I use more storage than that on my phone :^D

I remember putting 2 floppy drives in one computer and thought I was badass for doing that. Only rich people have a B drive!

Had some deadwood on my pin oak overhanging the roof, and a squirrel drey was in the way for almost everything. Had to alter my plans, and do everything differently. Got the wood down, and didn't disturb the nest too badly. I wanted to see what was inside, but I didn't want to ruin it to satisfy my curiosity.
