yep, i have learned my lesson. Luckily there were enough space so he was able to stuff the trumpet case into the overhead bin. Plus the flight arrived 20 minutes early, so he got to Terminal F right at boarding time.

Its too big and bulky to put it under the seat. it was a new case too!

My 2019 F150 came with a roll-up hard tonneau cover. I had it replaced under warranty in 2022. (minor appearance issue) I rarely roll the thing open, but a couple of weeks ago, I needed to have access to the bed, found the "felt" strips that act as noise reduction and help hold the aluminum strips together had fallen off. (glue failed) Kind of like this:

I'm sure the warranty is long over...it's gonna be a PITA to remove the cover and TRY to re-glue it.

Pretty sure I have mice in my ceiling. Getting up there would be a huge pita. It would be nice if they'd come down and play with Mamas. She'd appreciate the distraction from lounging around the house. I guess I'll leave them be for the time being/maybe forever.

Today's FWP is I had a tree barber chair on me while cutting it. First time I have that happen, made things rather interesting. Also had several that kept falling and leaning against another tree instead of going where I wanted. I should probably invest in some wedges instead of counting on hopes and dreams.

Got an area prepped for a 8x16 building though so pretty happy with that. Going to be a pump house/water supply tank and also double as a bunkie. Didn't want it in the way of my main build so going to be tucked in an area that will eventually be opened up more.

Medium headleaners should have the middle bored out, and cut the back to release. For heavy headleaners, a coos bay is worth considering, but it should be done with a fast saw(not electric).

I actually do want to do that at some point. Mass replicate some trees then go plant them in areas that are open on crown land. The trees I cut on my own land are because I actually want to use that space but I can still go plant in other areas to make up for it. Lot of logging going on in my area so it's a good opportunity to go do that.

I'm not too sure, but it's possible the tree was already kind of split down the middle and I didn't notice. I was doing the pie cut then it barber chaired at that point. One of the advantages of using an electric saw though is I can hear more what the tree is doing, so I heard it crack when it shouldn't and backed off before it actually did it. What made it tricky is the tree stayed in that position and didn't break off completely, so had a bit of fun with that, basically doing very small cuts at a time and backing off.

I've seen videos of it happening with super huge trees like over a foot in diameter, that's got to be a scary situation. The trees here are not that big, this one was maybe 8" or so. Still enough to do harm if not careful though.

Got the kid a dash cam for his Jetta he is driving. Amazon delivered it on Saturday and he was installing it just today.

Well, the cigarette lighter socket is not delivering power... he said he forgot to mention it earlier this year. But it was working when I had it with me before shipping it out to him.

So ok, now he has to get a fuse tap to hardwire it. He is never technical.. so time to find some good YouTube videos for him, plus layout of the fuse box.

That's what i am afraid.. I installed the dashcam for my Forster with fuse tap, but he wasn't there to watch and learn. Still have an extar one and variety of fuses left over.

I should have install it before shipping the car to him.

One of the previous owners of my property just decide just use whatever screws he/she had laying around when it came to projects. They couldn't be bothered to go to Home Depot and spend $20 on a box of proper construction screws. Latest example is they put up pegboard in the garage and used Torx screws for which I do not even have the correct size Torx bit in my standard bit set, so I cannot pull the pegboard down until I go to the store and buy the correct bit.

I was going to install a smart thermostat. Now I cannot be arsed. The wire at the furnace has brown sheathing. The one at the thermostat has beige and has lower gauge, and the colours of the conductors don't match

Of course I am doing this after wife decided to encase basement roof in drywall...

err, the problem is I don't know where the two cables are joined. It is working, that is why I don't want to mess with it.

I'm wondering if my "mice" are actually hornets. They've been terrorizing me outside my screendoor at night. Keep expecting one to get in. I haven't really noticed this year, but they fly under the eaves, and may have gotten behind the walls. Sounds like a lot of activity for mice, but there's no easy way to find out what's back there.
