Bought some watermelons and was about to cut them today but they exploded overnight and the juice flowed everywhere.. some statements I had left on the table, some into the carpet.

Maybe it's a sign.. shit's about to hit the fan.. because I've never seen watermelons explode before!

Got new neighbors next to me again. The old ones moved out. The old ones parked their F-150 right in front of my house all the time despite having space in front of their house. I celebrated when they left. Turns out the new neighbors have a massive lifted Chevy pickup and they decided it will be parked right in front of my house too. They also decided to put a construction cone about 5 feet behind where it is parked, so no one parks too close to them. Now I'm sitting looking out my window at a massive truck AND a construction cone in front of my yard.

Got my drum from ebay, and it's 57mm, not 85mm as advertised. I don't know how this happens. Big as shit on the box is a white sticker with black type that says 57mm. I measured it for the lulz in case my eyes went bad, and it somehow ended up in the wrong box, but it is indeed 57mm. I wanted to use it this weekend, and it doesn't look like that's happening now. I can use the winch, but it'll be 50% slower :^S

Been a while since I turned on my gaming machine. Just went to turn it on, guess it overloaded the inverter and caused my whole rack to shutdown. This is bad. Very bad.

The inverter is 1200w I'm not sure why it didn't handle that. I have plans to move all the server stuff to a separate 3kw one but still this should not have happened.

Even the NAS dropped. This is so bad. I can't even connect to it anymore, I think the OS is corrupted and I may need to completely reinstall the OS and pray that my raid arrays are still ok after that. This is really not something I want to be dealing with right now.

I was able to get the NAS back up, after some difficulties. For some reason the mdadm raid arrays don't auto assemble at start which causes NFS to fail. This process takes a very long time because it has to wait for timeouts for every single export. Once I was able to console in I had to manually start the raids and mount the disks and export NFS shares. From there I was able to start up all the PVE nodes. I disabled nfs from starting up and added all the commands to start the raid in my startup script, and then also start NFS, so hopefully if ever this happens again it will at least startup properly.

It seems like things are working now but I will be bracing for HDD failures as hard shutdowns like that tend to be very bad. I'm sure I will run into lot of other failed stuff that I didn't notice yet but from what I see I am more or less back up now. either way this was a pretty serious failure that I really was not in a mood to deal with right now.

I unplugged my gaming machine for now. I need to figure this out before I try powering that up again. I think ultimatly I just need to put in the 3kv inverter for the server stuff and keep the 1200w one for the less important stuff. Then add another 3kv for the 2nd PDU. That was always the plan it just costs a lot.

We were looking something up on my wife's Lenovo Yoga machine and when we were finished, I went to shut it down and an update popped up. I chose to go ahead and update it and when it tried to boot I got the bitlocker recovery key blue screen. Logged into my wife's outlook and there's no recovery key ID associated with her account! I tried doing some command prompt stuff to no avail, so now I'll have to do a clean install.

Spray isn't working so far. I've emptied two cans on the entrance, and there's still a nest in the wall. Gonna see if I can find a can straw somewhere, and see if it fits the cans. Maybe drill holes in the wall, and spray it in there. Having a stethoscope would be useful, so I can pinpoint the sound. Dunno if I want to buy one just to track bees down :^/
The saga continues... Turns out they aren't in the wall, but the ceiling. I banged on that. and they really didn't like it. I've drilled two holes so far, and shot bee spray into the ceiling with my modded can top. Getting ready to install another hole, and probably empty the can. Looks like I'll need more hornet spray :^(

Saws trains going each direction right now, and it made me think about how they no longer have cabooses. Like 15 years ago I noticed this, once I did I had to research and found out they just no longer have them. I felt kinda sad after they passed today because as a child I always loved seeing the Caboose. :|

Nobody from the younger generations has ever seen a Caboose on a live train, that's crazy to me.

Hadn't thought about it till you mentioned it, but yeah, no cabooses here either. Usually it's just another engine at the other end. I think even the Amtrak trains just have another engine in the rear.

A friggin piece of wire.

My gate opener started beeping for low voltage, apparently not charging the battery. Ran it down to a about a 20' section of 18/2. 12VDC at one end fluctuated wildly down as low as 4V at the other end. Continuity checked OK. No visible signs of damage, puncture of the sheath, corrosion, and so on.

Replaced that section. Opener charging fine now.

Had a new pair of Vibram FiveFingers KSO Evos ordered.

They were scheduled for delivery today(Aug.29,2025) via FedEx, or so I thought.

Checked the tracking again.. now it says Sept.2,2025. (next Tuesday.)

What the fuck is going on? So confused..

Am I doing something wrong here?

Is there some other way I'm supposed to contact a seller on ebay; preferably one that doesn't use some kind of dumbass sms looking interface? I got sent the wrong size drum(quickly shipped though), but nothing from the seller with my contact attempt.

I couldn't find my Johnnie Walker rocks glass, and had to use a Crown Royal glass to have a pour of my Blue label. Friday evening FWP.
I have a couple of these glasses. They're my favorite for whisky. Loosely based on the Edinburgh Crystal thistle pattern.

Ordered a couple batteries with included universal charger off Amazon for my old uPro golf GPS. Box finally arrives today 5 days late and contains no charger and just one battery. Called Amazon CS. Lousy audio, ESL rep who wanted me to return the battery and get refund, said item not available. I go to the page and it is available. She says she can message the seller and see if they will make amends, I suppose that meaning they will send me the missing items. Within 48 hours I should see some kind of message concerning how this is going. Just lovely.

My ISP charged me $6 late fee because I forgot to pay last month's bill on time. They literally ate my lunch.
Autopay

My town has charged me a lot more than that for forgetting to pay on time for my quarterly refuse bill. Bastards. It's a scam, they don't support autopay.

Yahoo said my login cookie had expired, so I had to log in again, but could not remember my password. So I had to reset my password. :\

KT
I have a lookup but need a computer not my phone.

Today, I tried to log into my 24HourFitness account, had the password at hand but they didn't recognize it. Sick of messing with their app (which would give me access via wand-readable code) every time I hit the gym, I just enter my phone number instead.

Downloaded latest version of MP3Tag and started tagging dozens and dozens of my MP3s. Doing universal tag writing for everything in a directory, sometimes up to 50 MP3s, was working well until the app borked on certain files. App stopped responding. Had to manually close several instances but it still wouldn't open and work. Had to reboot. Still having problems. Maybe wouldn't be as problematical if the data wasn't on my NAS.
