What first world problem did you have today?

Debian doesn't care what I do. After a full upgrade, everything's the same as it was before, just newer. I did lose virtualbox at work, but that's because oracle didn't see fit to make a debian 11 release so far. I can work around it, and I may, but I'm gonna hold out a bit for an official package.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons I preordered a Steam Deck. Valve seems to be one of the few companies who's trying to remove the requirement for Windows for a decent PC gaming experience.

Ma's Samsung died twice. Put an appliance surge supressor on it and a house suppressor in the electrical box...so far so good. Maybe 5 years ago.

Had a protector at the outlet, guess ill put a whole house in. Damn thing still don't refrigerate with the new parts. This frige is going to get a few 12 ga slugs.

When I looked into it, something like 80% of surges come from inside the house. Hvac coming on and the like. So the house protector might not do a lot.

I think its mostly planned obsolescence but who knows. Manufacturers could easily put a clamp in the fridge.

Absolutely is planned. 20+ years ago, a repair guy said plan on 10 years. Our last hvac lasted 8 before the compressor died. It was leaking Freon when it came from the factory.

Vinyl letters on my storefront were cracked so ordered new ones. All went well until I tried to peel the backer off of the new letters. The backer tore in some spots so I had parts of letters stuck to the window and some backer left under parts. I managed to not screw it up too badly but it added 45min to a fairly easy job.

Wallpaper scraper and Windex cleaned it just fine. It was the new letters that were the problem.

I guess they don't do handpainted window signs/letters anymore, eh? I'd pay the premium, just cause it's cool, but probably pretty hard to find someone to do it. They probably even died out at the geezer home.

Paid about $25 for the letters and the last ones lasted 12 years. Watched a guy do gold leaf at my office in 1987. Delicate work for sure.

Na, the plug is solid. Did the same thing on my tiller, but escaped with the hundred buck Harbor Freight 6hp chinee. Granted both machines were 20ys + old.

It turns out that stabbing yourself in the stomach with a needle is harder than it seems. I touch the needle to my skin and my hand starts shaking. It looks like I got a tattoo without ink during an earthquake.

lol. I had to quit taking my blood thinner (warfarin) because I have a heart cath this week. I have to temporarity take the shots to slow my blood from clotting in the meantime. A shot every twelve hours for 3 days.

The overly generous dude at the BK threw nine ketchup packets in with my medium fries. The packets landed on top of the fries and the thermal mass of the cold ketchup cooled the fries.

I don't like ketchup, and I hate when places voluntarily give it to me. The local fish monger has good fish & chips baskets, and I always ask for no tartar sauce, and no ketchup. I always get tartar sauce, and more times than not, I get a shitton of ketchup packets. I then feel obligated to keep them around cause I don't want to waste it, and they collect dust til I squish one, and it makes a mess for me, or I just get tired of seeing them, and throw them out. Shit pisses me off. It's wasteful, and useless. Ketchup's for children. I don't look anything like a child at this point, SO DON'T GIVE ME ANY FUCKING KETCHUP!
