Chemist. I can't read that shit either. :D

No real need to put any effort into it! ;)

Any time I have to "sign" on one of those LCD sig-pads most times I literally just make an "X" or draw a line now. Accepts it every time! (I've also written Micky M. Mouse a few times just for kicks)

"Signatures" are just dumb as a form of ID verification and cursive (ie: decorative handwriting) is worse than useless.

Yeah, I’m just scribbling on those signature pads. After years of trying to prefect my sig with a plastic pen on a plastic I just said f that.

I always hated the fact that signatures are actually a valid ID, especially considering they are hardly even verified. I always just scribble on those pads too. I'm sure a thief pretending to be the owner of the house could easily scribble anything and get a package for me to steal it. I would have zero recourse because "I signed it".

Not really today.
But most of next week is going to be disgustingly hot here in Portland, Oregon.

AccuWeather is forecasting highs of 96 F on Tuesday,101 F on Wednesday,100 F on Thursday,99 F on Friday the 13th,and 97 F on Saturday the 14th.

Overnight low temps are forecasted to be anywhere from 67 degrees F on Tuesday to 73 degrees F on Thursday.

FML. Thank God for window-vent air conditioners.

It's been nice here in NH. We had allot of rain in July, but, oddly enough, only two boomers.

As for FWP for me, we need to drive down to a building supply company in a nearby town to look at a replacement sliding patio door today...so, of course, the hillside along the highway between is and the closest town has sloughed off and closed the highway...again. Fortunately, this time it's pretty minor and the road Might be reopened later today.

All 3 days of it...right?

Yeah it fell on a weekend this year so that was nice!

It feels early for it to start cooling off though, it started a little bit before August. Usually it starts in August not a few days before. Still getting warm enough in the day though but it goes right down at night.

In the past few years we even get warm weather throughout September though it just tends to rain a lot. Our snow tends to come late now, like December. But then we can get storms right through May sometimes. The climate is all messed up.

I went to preorder a Star Wars statue at the toy store I usually get my stuff from, and I was rushing to get the order done since it was an item that has pretty well been sold out since it was announced.

However, I failed to notice that I had apparently added a $400 Transformers statue at some point on a different PC, and their system must be like Amazon's where if you add something to your cart, they save it for anytime you log back in. I was completely oblivious to it even being there until I received a shipping notification for it.

So now I have something on the way that I had ultimately decided I didn't want to buy. Plus it's very large, and I really don't have the space for it.

Need a new roof - pretty bad leak. Sometimes I hate owning a home. Temporary repair isn't worth it because the roof is in bad shape anyway (23 yrs/old) :confused_old:.
I hate expensive maintenance stuff - does't add value to the home like improvements do.

Oh, and this, plus another project, puts off building a garage till 2023. Since we only plan to be here about 5 more years - eff that.

2019 had to have the HVAC replaced. 2 units and all of the duct. Our house was built in 1937. $17K. Our roof is ~15 years old so we should be good for a while longer.

Ugh, $17K, no fun :confused_old:.

Our roof will only be about $7K. Not going with a the cheapest company - too many just suck. Damn retired firefighters who did the roof at my last house are now totally retired - they were awesome roofers (and, in their 60's, could go up and down the ladders like nobody's business!).

So I have a new phone with large storage (128 Gb) and large screen (6.8"). I went to Google and downloaded a few well know shoot them up (FFS) games to the phone and after about 10-15 minutes, did not like them at all. The screen was too small and hard to use the controls via the phone touch screen to move around/engage in combat/shooting. I used to the keyboard and mouse on FFS games on the PC. Removed all those games and back to Bejeweled for me.

Picked up the cremains for my two dogs today...another kick in the nuts for me. We'll scatter them in our back yard and on the ocean beach...two places they loved.

I am having a hard time finding fittings that can fit on a IBC Tank and it's getting annoying. It should not be this hard! I think I found something on Grainger's site but the description is hard to decipher as to if it's the right gender or not and the picture is just generic. I bought a camlock adapter and then threaded adapter that was suppose to fit on the camlock, but it turns out it does not fit. One is NPT threads the other is NPS. I took my chances. Can't find those adapters in other thread formats.

At this point I think I might just jerry rig something. Read up on plastic welding, it looks easy, basically you just use a soldering iron to fuse two pieces of plastic together. Debating on accumulating some recyclables that are the same type of plastic and then making a sheet, then I can weld the sheet to the end of the camlock to essentially make a cover. Once I have that, I should be able to use some kind of bushing with a gasket to attach a 3/4" pipe fitting to the end of the cover.

The issue is hardware stores don't sell anything past 3/4" and I'm dealing with 2" so it makes life difficult. I wonder where cities buy their stuff, like for water mains and stuff. I need a store like that. I guess regular people probably would not have access to that.

Broke a couple of ribs in a drunken cricket match.
Went to hospital in an ambulance. Xrays, bloods, CT contrast, ecg. Got sent home with codeine. Got home GP phoned and gave me more codeine, some liquid morphine, naproxen and laxatives. Enough for a month.
No charges.

Turns out opiates aren't that much fun. I was looking forward to the good drugs!

OMG i do not think this is a first world problem....
A broken rib is hell for the first month...
Opiates.... ugh.... they are good for the first 2 weeks, then your body will build a tolerance at that point its either you cut them and go down to over the counter, or you increase, which can lead down a very dark dark tunnel which i do not wish on anyone.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.... i know first hand how much shit you will go though with that rib... and its was not fun.
