OMG i do not think this is a first world problem....

It was because the health care was free and extensive but my complaint was that the drugs aren't as entertaining as I thought!
A rib is hell for the first month...
Opiates.... ugh.... they are good for the first 2 weeks, then your body will build a tolerance at that point its either you cut them and go down to over the counter, or you increase, which can lead down a very dark dark tunnel which i do not wish on anyone.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.... i know first hand how much shit you will go though with that rib... and its was not fun.

Cheers, it's pretty sore.

Picked up the cremains for my two dogs today...another kick in the nuts for me. We'll scatter them in our back yard and on the ocean beach...two places they loved.

Broke a couple of ribs in a drunken cricket match.
Went to hospital in an ambulance. Xrays, bloods, CT contrast, ecg. Got sent home with codeine. Got home GP phoned and gave me more codeine, some liquid morphine, naproxen and laxatives. Enough for a month.
No charges.

Turns out opiates aren't that much fun. I was looking forward to the good drugs!
Dang. Best of. Make sure you take the laxatives.

My bro is getting a CT with contrast. The hospital is billing $24K....what the damn hell?
Next time, vote your self interest.

Healthcare billing is bullshit; the only people who get stuck with the billed rate are the uninsured (poor people). The insurance company negotiated rates are much lower.

So I just have a new set of all 4 tires, not even 1 month ago and one of the tires just has a big nail (look like roofer nail). $10 and 15 minutes later from the tires shop, I am on my way. The tire is not new and fresh anymore..boohoooo.

Yeah and my only thing to say and it goes into P&N territory so I apologize.
So obvious our system is broken. Why does it cost 10 or 50 times as much for a typical US Birth vs what it costs to birth a baby for the Royal Family in the U.K.?
Why are ultra sounds magnitudes more expensive in the US and why does it vary so much State to State with none being “cheap”
Why do different people with or without insurance never pay even close to the same rate for the same service?
Why does closing a wound with glue or stitches cost so much vs other countries? How much should it cost? Could a med student do it instead for a lower rate does that matter for a bad boo-boo kind of cut (Doctor vs Med Student)?

I had to run the Zoom meeting for church today for my first time, and it's on a Mac. I did not realize how finicky and minimalist Mac hardware was. No scroll wheel on the mouse, and not even a backspace on the keyboard. This may be a Zoom specific issue, but the scroll bar on parts of the program keep vanishing too and lack of scroll wheel on the mouse makes it very hard to scroll through anything like participant list etc.

Give me a PC mouse and keyboard any day. Though a lot of PC keyboards seem to be trying to emulate Mac these days, with the tiny keys etc. Kind of annoying. Hope that does not eventually replace regular keyboards.

funny. The one button mouse has been my #1 complaint with macs
I suspect this isn’t the same today but yeah their keyboards & mice are a pain in the ass.

They'll probably faint if you try to plug in a Razer Naga

LOL...

They will make this thing so complicated to repair, you would need a patent protected part for each button even on the naga...

Here is the Naga for reference to those who do not know or are too lazy to know.

On a tangent, not sure if your mouse lets you do per-app custom macros, but my cheapo MMO mouse doesn't, so I use Macro Express to extend the functionality. The software ($70) cost more than the mouse ($40), but was 1,000% worth it for the extended functionality:

So I can have it do one set of commands in IronCAD, another set of commands in Photoshop, etc. & take advantage of some really nice features to enhance my workflow that I wouldn't normally use as often otherwise because they weren't as convenient because I had to memorize some fancy shortcut key combo or else use a script or something.

Most newer macs will work fine with say a $40-$50 Logitech cordless mouse/keyboard set provided it has a USB-A port. (just be sure to remove it after use ... a regular Mac-user might need tech-support to figure out the scroll wheel!)

;)

I would still check their website pre-purchase to make sure there is up to date software available for whatever model.

Technically my wired gaming mouse supports this (and so does my keyboard.. both Logitech) but I rarely use either feature aside from one that switch's my audio from analog speakers to my gaming headset.

Woke up Friday morning...foot hurt like one of the bones in my foot was "out of joint." Fckr's hurt for a couple of days...this morning, whole foot hurts like some of the other metatarsal joints are "out of joint."
I've had similar things before, so I'm sure it will pass in time.

"Old Football Injury" seems like a good, bullshit excuse. :p

Yeah, I don't get mice with as many buttons as a keyboard. I'm old...left button, right button, scroll wheel is all I ever use.

Woke up this morning to my AC running but not cooling. The fan runs, but the compressor tries to kick on and can't. Gonna check the capacitor after work - hopefully it just needs a new one.

I checked my ecobee app and apparently the system called for cooling for six hours last night, so the condensor fan and indoor blower fan were running all night. Anyone with an ecobee know if there's an option to halt the call for cooling/heating if the indoor temperature isn't changing? Seems like one of those things that a smart thermostat would handle...

I had to drive to McDonalds for breakfast this morning. The restaurant shares a parking lot with the hotel I'm in. I walked over and the indoor window is closed so I had to walk back to my truck, drive to the McDonalds, and drive back to the hotel. Total driving distance = 100 yards.

Broke the glass dome of the ceiling fan light. Although it is a current model I van buy at Lowe's, I cannot get a replacement dome.
Ended up buying another same ceiling fan just to get the glass dome
