Yeah paying tax on investments is another thing that's retarded. People try to get a bit ahead by investing what little money they have left, then the government wants that too. Like F off already!

There's a meme that is going around, shows a quarter and says "this is a loonie with all the taxes taken out". So true too. If you start to factor of all the different taxes we have to pay we get to keep maybe 25% of what we make.
I never heard the term loonie before now. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Bought some windshield wipers after checking the manufacturer's website to confirm that model of blade fit my vehicle. For the life of me I could not get them to fit. I contacted the manufacturer and asked if they fit. They told me their website was incorrect and that even though it says those blades fit, they will not fit my car.

taxes on the income generated by the investment, not the investment

A gardening client has invited her son, with his new girlfriend + her 3yo child, to live in her daylight basement...and the young couple recently adopted a dog. Nice folks and complete slobs...cigarette butts, dog poop, holes dug in lawn.

It is a slang for $1 Canadian dollar. Just as a buck/greenback for $1 US dollar.
Thanks but I googled it before I last posted. It looks sort of like a Susan B Anthony coin, except theirs has a hotter woman on it. ;)

I think Walmart actually listed these blades as compatible, based on what the blade manufacturer told them. I am just generally annoyed with Subaru. Apparently Subaru and several other vehicle manufacturers invented a new type of wiper blade interface beginning with 2017 and later year models. Because most of those vehicles are still under warranty, they are getting factory blade replacements from dealers, and there is a very limited aftermarket wiper blade market at the moment. I want to find some silicone blades but I don't think I will be able to find any.

They are receiving a rate increase notice in the Feb bill. However they will need to resolve it, or they will get dropped, not interested in being the dog butler.
My bro is a plumber and bills out at $140/hr for dealing with people shit. Surely, you could see the profit in dog shit.

There's no more dessert here. Only some fruity candies and half of a chocolate bar. Just remembered about the chocolate bar.

I had a problem that only Americans have. No other first world nation has this issue.

Gonna cost seven thousand dollars to get one of my teeth fixed.

I can definitely sympathize. You can check out local dental colleges to see if they will do the work for free or at reduced cost in exchange to be the guinea pig for dental students.

$7k? Are you getting a whole new tooth made of diamonds? My most expensive repair was a root canal, followed up by a crown lengthening procedure, followed up by the crown, at ~$3k total... and I thought that was high.

Holy crap that sucks. We don't get dental care here either in Canada which I think is ridiculous considering all the taxes we pay, but even here it's usually under a grand for dental work. It's usually also mostly covered by the employer here. Mine is like 90% I think.

Plumbing is a noble profession, and amply compensated. I just checked the local Pet Butler service reviews, looks like $60/month fee for 1x per week...looks like a subcontracting opportunity.

I sometimes regret not getting into trades like plumbing or electrical, tons of job security in that.

Hard to get into after the fact though, because you need special credentials and stuff and it's hard to get when you already have a job and have to work. Electrical for example requires that you put in a crazy amount of hours as an apprentice. Basically comes up to working full time for like 5 years. I sometimes think of getting into drywalling or painting though... don't need any special license for that. I should probably do more of those projects at home and make sure I can do a decent job before I decide to do it professionally though.

Oh and I almost forgot to add my first world problem for today.

My snowblower seems to have quit on me. Had to shovel over a foot of snow by hand. I'm not really properly setup yet to fix stuff like that since my garage is not heated. That is actually sort of in the works, I have lumber here I just need to build the wall on one side so I can put rafters across then I can insulate, vapour barrier and drywall. I will need to bring in more electrical as well and there's lot of other stuff that needs to be done but if I can at least get it insulated and setup a crude work bench and start organizing my tools it will be something.
