So sick of this global warming crap. I just want a normal winter for once.

Pouring rain right now and everything is such a huge mess. I can't even snow blow my driveway without getting soaked. FTS. Everything is going to turn into this shitty ice/crusty crap.

Virginia is expected to get an especially cold, hard winter this year. Thats according to the national weather service, the farmers almanac, and the old farmers almanac.

We were told to expect a "more normal classic winter" but I'll believe it when I see it. It's almost December and we hardly have any snow on the ground yet and we keep going into the positives. Positive temps in winter is bad news because it means rain and mushy snow and overall nastiness. But never know, things tend to change fast mid December. Now days we get all our snow a week or two before Christmas. It's our busy season at work because of all the power outages in Quebec. They get a bit of snow and their power grid goes to crap lol.

Snow seems like something they should be reasonably prepared for.

They are, like nobody freaks out at the actual snow or anything and it's mostly business as usual, but for some reason the power grid is crap there. The outages last for days. We have techs running all over with generators in the middle of storms to keep the phone and internet working. Makes for a fun time and lots of overtime for them and for us at the NOC too.

When it's really bad then we have to start letting the cell sites drop as land line is priority. (and if the COs go down the cells would not work anyway)

I cut myself trying to open one of those clamshell packs the other day and now that cut hurts like frig. Just put some polysporin on it. Should maybe put a bandage.

then why are you in this thread 😕

It seems hip and trendy, and I'm usually good at complaining about stuff...I guess I'm not good enough to bluff my way into first world problems. I have a dream though, that one day I'll get a small taste of the first world. Until then I'll just keep complaining.

Welp, Antonio Brown just broke my fantasy team's back for the season. Also, why does Apple make such crappy commercials. The songs suck and the characters are annoying. "What's a computer?". GTFO. 😛

I bought some ruby red grapefruit segments in juice only to find out that for some unholy reason they added Truvia to it. I ate one segment and that has to be one of the nastiest things I've ever eaten. It's my fault for not checking the ingredients, but I didn't think anyone would put crappy fake sugar in fruit. It's the first time in a while I've actually just exclaimed "what the f---" out loud out of surprise.

Seems like they always turn the sweetness up to 12 when they use that stuff. It's not enough to make it sweeter, it has to make pure sugar cane taste like lemon in comparison. It's because Americans have the the sophistication of children. Putting in effort to discern flavor after that grueling walk to the fridge? Are you out of your fuckin' mind?!

Been stuck on the road & also doing nights for like two months now, and have another 1.5 months to go. On the flip side, I have a job and am very grateful to have a good job in this economy. But I already struggle with going to bed early & this is goofing up my whole schedule lol. This 2am bedtime thing is for the birds.

I really hadn't ever realized how true that is until I got food allergies & then got medicine to treat food allergies so that I could eat normal stuff again. Like, I buy a new cheese every week when I go to the grocery store just to try something new, because I can have dairy again without dying for three days straight. I grew up on Kraft (still love it) & EZ-Squeeze canned cheese on crackers. Turns out cheese platters are amazing, go figure.
