Fathead the cat is sitting outside by his empty bowl making me feel guilty. It isn't even my cat! I feed him more than I do my cats. He gets a bowl in the morning, and eats the whole thing. If he wants some for later, he needs to save it. The mice will be moving in soon. Maybe that'll give him motivation to catch some.

This is turning into the happening place for kitties. Aside from Fathead, I've spotted a tabby, and a blackie with white socks at my back door. No idea who they belong to.

I moved a water hose and in the process crushed a small gecko into a state of mangled goo. :(

My employer just changed password expiration from 60 days to 45 days on all systems. Having users write down passwords on post-its stuck to their monitors or on a notepad in their secret squirrel top desk drawer every 45 days is much more secure than having them do so every 60 days. Common log-in you say? Six different systems with separate logins/passwords that are regularly used plus a couple others that are used so rarely my account is locked whenever I do need to use them. Just put a chip in my head already.

We have to change ours every 30 days. It's sure fricking annoying. I have a long ass, 15 character, mixed case, alphameric with symbols password but yeah, it's gotta be changed every 30 days. So I just added on a digit (now up to two digits) and increment it each month.

The concept of forced password changes is retarded. It just forces people to write it down, or to just keep adding a digit increment. My home/personal passwords are all much more secure than work, because at work there's no point in me trying to remember a complicated password because I'm going to have to change it again anyway. So I pick a dictionary word, capitalize it, then just keep adding a digit at the end. When I hit like 30 I change the word.

What I hate is that every system has their own rules. Some systems the password HAS to be 6 characters no more no less, some it has to be 8, some require special characters etc. And they all expire at different times so it's very hard to keep them synced. Some of the systems let you change it yourself without it expiring, but not all of them do. I basically have a few variations of passwords to fit the different systems then keep them all in my password manager. At one point they tried to take away the password manager but people just started putting their passwords in their personal phone or on notepads on their desk etc so they didn't like that and let us keep the password manager.

lol I wish I could see the dentist the day I make an appointment. It's usually several months out for me. If a filling gets loose or something, I pretty much have to go the DIY route. Tried caulking once, though I saw an interesting product where it was a light activated glue, need to try that next time. It's more or less what the dentist uses for filling material.

Guilty of both I freaking hate changing passwords at work for different systems/applications at different intervals. Yes I could probably sync them but that takes too much effort. I miss the days when my password would let me increase by +1 for example winter76! oh well.

My solution is a simple unsecured Notepad document on my shared drive, it has the date, application and latest password and all previous.

That's the worse of my work place, some of them you simply can't sync, because of the way the intervals work you end up with being too far ahead in one system than the other, and some systems you can only change it when it prompts you, you can't voluntarily change it.

my teeth keep having issues and I'm always going to a dentist the same day I make an appointment.
I joke with my dentist that his office is my home away from home since I spend so much time there. I've had 4 crowns so far and I have to get an implant next month or so if the bone graft took. Then just today another tooth chipped. It's really starting to become monotonous.

Ugh I hate getting dental work done. My fillings in the front are starting to wear out and it looks like I have plaque but it's just because the tooth is kinda jagged. I need to get that fixed but I really hate going through the proceedure. That, and my teeth become sensitive for so long after. Took several years for the front fillings to stop being sensitive. Been over 10 years now so guess they're due to be reworked. Kinda my fault though, I had some calcium bulidup/discoloring on my front teeth and my mom kept bugging me about it so I asked the dentist to see if it can be fixed. Did not realize it involved grinding half the teeth away.

As for a new FWP I just found out our taxes are going up by a bit over 2%. Again. Every freaking year. It's ridiculous. People only make so much money in a given year. Some are forced to sell and move out of town because they can't afford the taxes anymore.

Junk Mail from SiriusXM has been annoying since housemate bought her car in 2010. Since I bought one in March, it's been insane - 2-3 envelopes a week and multiple calls on our cell phones (both on the national do-not-call registry, and even though neither of us are subscribers.)

So I did a do-not-contact request via webchat. But they said the do-not-mail listing expires in 3 years and I have to opt-out again.
