My brain did one of those "holy shit, this has implications!" things, and I'm pretty sure I just figured out the next hour of lecture.

Another FWP, my vacation is officially over and I really did not put as much progress as I wanted on my shed. :/ I was really hoping to take a floater since I work tomorrow and day after then I'm off again, but my boss never responded to me. It's suppose to start raining again after those days so I will miss out the only 2 days left that I can work on it.

I'm starting to think I should setup some kind of very large tarp/awning system so I can just work in the rain. it's ridiculous how much it rains so much here. It's very hard to get enough consecutive days without rain to work on any kind of outside project.

Might have to work on it in winter just before the snow comes. Downside is working on frozen wood is harder, and the planks start to twist etc. I really need to try to get it done before all my lumber starts to twist.
Here you go.

Seriously though. That does suck. I'm making really slow progress and I don't have the weather to contend with. I've got 4 of the 5 floor panels down but I'm not optimistic about how even or solid they're going to be. I might have to do something similar to what you're doing in which case I see a contractor in my future.

On another topic, I had one of my wireless keyboards die today. It just up and died. I didn't abuse or mistreat it in any way. I didn't spill anything on it. I didn't even curse at it. It just curled up and died. No warning, not even a suicide note. Nothing.

It took me a while to realize it was actually dead. I unplugged and replugged the usb dongle. Tried another usb port. Checked the batteries. Tried hooking it up directly to usb via a cable. Nothing worked. It was a nice keyboard too.

So I had to go to a backup Anker keyboard I have. Which is also an ok keyboard but it doesn't have the positive feedback clicky keys that the Armor keyboard had and I'm going to miss that.

RIP buddy.

My 0.99p mini USB (face cooling fan not PC fan) fan died on me couple days ago too :(

At least yours is still trying and hasn't lost all hope or desire. It's so sad to see electronics just give up the ghost like that with barely a whimper. You want to see them rage against the dying of the light. Good little fan. Strong little fan.

Someone at work left the refrigerator door open all weekend from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. I came in and discovered this and had to throw away all my perishable food because the fridge was room temperature.

I think there was a miscommunication. I had my sgian dubh in my sock. That protects against a lot of things, but pregnancy isn't one of them :^(
You were too busy surveying the situation when you should have been using your bush axe to decapitate the pit viper.

;)

Yeah, you just inherited a whole clan.

A WHOLE CLAN.
I think you're right. I had two new kitties in the backyard today. One was an almost black tabby, and the other looked like Fathead, but with a calico patch on its side. That makes five so far. Fathead's the only one that eats. Not sure why the others are here.

Working on a project in the shop. Sounds like two old women bitching and complaining. They should just agree or sthu.

Sheesh.

This morning, a fool stopped his/her vehicle in the inside line of an off ramp on I-20 while me and others slam on the brakes to stop our vehicles while other vehicles were passing by with speed of at least 60 MPH. Then he/she casually crossed two lines of that off ramp to get back on I-20. He/she could get T-bone by any vehicle that was trying to get off the interstate from the outside line. What a fool that was putting his/her life and our lives in jeopardy just because he/she would not want to get off the interstate and then drive around to get back on.

I got a new bed platform (in preparation for a new mattress next week.) My old bed/foundation combo was a cheap one I bought about ten years ago. I will be using the old mattress until Thursday, but the new platform came today so I put it together and got the old frame and foundation into the garage.

When I lifted up the old one, I realized that the cats had torn away some of the fabric underneath, so I took a look inside. Turns out it was made from mostly 1x2s and cardboard. The old mattress actually feels way better on the new frame (although that's relative - it's still worn out enough that I can feel the new frame through the mattress), and most of the creaking/groaning noises were apparently coming from the platform, not the mattress.

The new platform was $180, and I should have bought it five years ago.

But it came unfinished, so I have to paint it.

It is about 3 p.m. here and per Weather.com, it is 93 F outside but with a heat index, it is like 100 F outside right now and it will be like that (lower 90 with heat index during daytime and lower 70 at nighttime) for the next week or so. And it is Fall already?

Dude, I've been so angry the last week or so. Summer won't just fuck off and die. I'm tired of stinky wet air, and sweating. I hope we get a winter this year. The last two have been worthless.

Even here it's unusually hot for this time of year but thankfully not 100F hot, that's just brutal. We don't even get that in middle of July. Downside is all the freaking rain. Trying to work on an outside project and it keeps raining. When it stops everything is wet and it's hot and humid. Which is actually kind of odd because usually when it rains it's cold.

We had the wettest August I ever remember. There may have been hurricane events in the past that pushed up the total number, but we haven't had this many wet days in my memory.
