Must be an American thing, but all the weird crazy stuff Walmart is known for or all the weird stuff that you see in videos just does not happen here. What I do hate about Walmart is how they always only have one cash open. If they're going to do that they should have least put some self checkouts like at Home Depot.

OMG! It's like that up North too?! HAHA I swear! They must do this as freaking company policy! All those checkouts and like three open.

I'm miffed because my brain is fried. I work as a knowledge worker (IT) & have been on overload lately, mentally. I usually enjoy listening to "smart" infotainment podcasts, like TED Talks, but I just can't wrap my brain around that level of thinking lately. I have ADHD & get bored easily and like to be doing stuff all the time, but I'm just so mentally wiped that I can't bring myself to even start one of those up. Been binging on easy-to-watch stuff on Netflix instead. Currently watching "Travelers". It's good enough to keep watching, but not mentally challenging enough that my brain shut downs. Eeeeeeeee :(

I heard of it referenced as Wally world but most just call it Walmart. And yeah, they have at least 20 check out lanes, it's crazy. But they also have the express that's open too at times. Please go to 2.... please go to 2..... please go to 1.... please go to 1..... (that must drive the workers there insane lol)

I never heard of that, "please go to 1 or 2 thing. What is that?

I think the biggest has to be the credit/debt card readers that always beep loud to indicate you can pull your card out. Hearing that constantly would drive anyone postal. LOL

Oh it's only at the express lane, they'll have like 6 cashes or so and there's a sign that tells you which one is available but it has a voice to it. Though last time I was there they didn't have the voice anymore, maybe they got rid of that because it was driving people insane lol.

I slacked off working on my basement and now it might be too cold to apply the spray foam. We had an unusually warm day on Saturday and I could have done it then had I not slacked.

Cranking up the heat now to see if I can acclimate the chemicals and the surfaces. Chemicals need to be at 21C and surfaces need to be at 16C. Right now chemicals are at 19C and some of the surfaces are like 8C. But I just took the little insulation that was already there out, so now that they are fully open hopfully the heat of the house will keep the surfaces warm enough for the foam.

Failing that, I'll have used up tons of natural gas for nothing and have to call it a day, while sweating.

My schedule ends at this week so not sure how much time off I have after Easter weekend, but maybe I'll get lucky and there will be another warm day. It's that weird time of year where it pretends to be spring sometimes but really it's not.

About an hour ago I narrowly missed two mattresses at 55mph that fell off an Outback two cars ahead of me on the highway. Luckily it was the right lane and I swerved into the shoulder to avoid both, though it was a split second before the second mattress would have it. Time slowed down in that second... was contemplating whether I should hit the object before I realized what it was and saw the second mattress tumble, bounce, and then hurtle toward my windshield.

Not sure how much damage box spring mattresses would have done at that speed, but really glad I didn't hit them.

Maybe not a first world problrm only, though. :p

It's way too hot in my house right now. Kinda on purpose. Need to acclimate it for spray foam. Going to do the rim joists in the basement tonight and surface needs to be at least 16C and chemical needs to be at least 21C.

Brutal!

I went to check around with the temp gun and it's starting to look good, going to play it safe and give it like an hour then I should be ready. I might have to get into the tyvek suit naked lol.

Suppose I should be ready to foam soon. Managed to keep the office at a half decent temp with door closed and vent covered. "only" 24 in here. Chemical canisters read 30C now, but that's just the surface temp of the canister itself. Most surfaces I want to foam are a better temp now.

Going to want to shut the furnace off while I spray so need to overshoot my temps a bit.

My decent paying job that entails working on people problems is causing me stress because of all of the recent people problems.

Went to Target this morning and they had ZERO cashier-run checkout lanes open. The ONLY way to check out was self-checkout. I had to stand in line and watch the plebes try and ring themselves up. Having a cashier do it is so much faster.

We have a new boss, and I keep hearing random stuff about changes he wants to make that don't sound very good. We keep asking for more monitors, it's really all we really need, there's other stuff too like they're trying to move lot of stuff to this app that is a piece of garbage, so we keep asking they reconsider, but really I don't think nobody has power over that, so w/e. Just give us our monitors. But instead he seems to be obsessed with this idea of wanting to move our desks, he wants the NOC to looke like a "real" NOC, like NASA kinda deal. That sounds great on paper, but it's really not ideal for how we work. Our desks are setup fine, we just need more screens. He also wants shared desks instead of everyone having their own. Problem is all this stuff is happening behind our backs. It's not just him, but the upper manager too. They have this vision that they won't tell us, and keep calling it phase 1 and phase 2 etc. Really annoying to not be involved in stuff that will affect us.

I really hope none of that happens.
