A recent data recovery project sucked up all of the free space on my backup drive & now I have to figure out where to put the files.
I have an 8TB USB 3.0 drive I use as a restore target for data recovery projects. Friend dropped off his 250GB WD drive that he accidentally installed Windows over (it had multiple partitions for OS, data, etc.). It took 3 full days to recover & somehow pulled out 7 terabytes of data, which is insane. What gets weirder is that a lot of the recovered data is usable...the drive had been through multiple reformats (I believe the order was XP, Vista, 7, then acted as a Windows DVR, then back to being used as a desktop, before being completely overwritten). Just used a standard tool (EaseUS Data Recovery Wiz Pro) & pulled out a ridiculous amount of recovery data...photos, videos, DVR-MS recording files, Office docs, etc. How a 250GB drive pulled off 7,500GB of files, I have no idea. BRB applying for a position at CSI Cyber.
