YouTube keeps spamming me with some Irish whiskey ad. Fuck off, I don't want to drink your whisky. I don't even like American whisky.

Got a letter from the school board thanking me for my participation at the interview but that they're going with another candidate. :( I'm grateful for getting a response, it just wasn't the one I was hoping for.

Damn. I really had my hopes up for this job after scoring high on the civil service exam, modernizing my resume, getting in touch with all my references, getting a new interview outfit, prepping for the most common questions etc. With things going sour fast at the non profit I'm at now and a total lack of heath care I'm starting to get really desperate for a new job.
Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, a lot of times they do these interviews just for show. They already know who they're going to hire.

Just found out my light-duty, basic bankers boxes are rated for 400 lb of stacking or something. Now I'm annoyed that I worried over stacking 30 lb of crap on one.

.......And I just got an ad for a solution to vaginal dryness. I also get ads about clearing my criminal record regularly. I really want to know what my profile looks like to ad serving programs.

for federal jobs, yeah.

they have a committee of 3 gs-15's.
my boss (branch chief of IT) was on that committee. he had no clue about the position because it was in some other division (congressional affairs).

but he was free at that time and they needed 3 gs-15's to satisfy the rules.
the person hired was a contractor that worked in that division.
it was pre-ordained.

yeah, all for show.

thinking about trading in my new 2015 mazda3 that i bought in nov 2015.

don't like it.

cig lighter is on all the time, even when engine is off.

I have both a gps + dash cam.

have to unplug everytime I leave the car and re-plug when i get back in the car.

else i risk running down the cheap oem 300 cca battery. :(

plus it'll overwrite all the dashcam footage just sitting there overnight/all weekend.

sooooooo annoying.

but jesus the hit I'm going to take.

a 6 month old car depreciates that much?!

sigh.. thousands $$$ down the tube just because of a cig lighter.

yeah, I'm making 6 figures but i hate wasting $. Grand Negus would not approve

There's gotta be an easier way. I've seen dash cams that activate with motion or GPS. Have you read the car's user manual yet? Could there be a hidden second aux power jack to power it? Perhaps there's a way to change the behavior of the other? If not, it wouldn't be too hard to change it so that it can grab switched power from the stereo if you want to take it to a car stereo installer. Any of those guys should be able to do it (I suggest a relay controlling the original line).

All kinds of fwps today... Went out with the boss to go to a couple of jobs, and stopped at Wendys for lunch(he bought). Against my better judgment, I went to the drive through per his preference, and ordered fish & chips. I don't check the bag, and on the road, I find out they didn't give me my chips. Of course I tell him "This is why you don't go through the fuckin' drive through!" The point was further pressed when his tea that was supposed to be unsweetened could have probably had a spoon stood in it from all the sugar added.

Nothing good comes from being lazy, and using the drive through. It's slower, and they always fuck the order up.

Drive thru orders actually do get priority. I guess that really only means they can screw your order up faster and make it much less convenient to correct.

Bought a blueberry muffin, wanted to eat it for dessert. Turned out to be a chocolate-chip muffin, placed in the wrong bin. I thought they were just tiny blueberries :(

Went grocery shopping today. More specifically, the frozen food isle of the market. I was looking for this thing made by Morningstar - veggie crumbles. The look like ground beef but it's really TVP (texturized vegetable protein). It's a reasonable substitute for dishes where you don't want to pre-cook hamburger meat.

Anyway, they didn't have it, or at least I couldn't find it. This is very annoying because it's one of the few things I can add to the Knorr rice and pasta dishes I make to give them a little more substance.

I think this store is deliberately screwing with me because they didn't have clementines this week either. WTF, it's like the store is stuck in 1999 when you could only get clementines in season. We're in the 21st century now bitches and we don't care about any stinking seasons.

How is that easier than pulling the plug from the lighter jack? I'm giving alternatives to consider before replacing the vehicle. Yours does not address the initial annoyance. ;)

if there's a short then a dash-cam running may be the least of his worries.

I'd like one of those, purely for its size... Can't help but feel that, while I may have an intact corpse, none of my organs would be usable if I were to sign my donor card.

The only convenience store on the way to work keeps their foam coffee cups in a spring loaded holder that has metal clips that keep them in place. The clips squish the foam enough so the lid doesn't seal properly, and it drips whenever I drink it.

My work computer is being upgraded this week (this is good as the f'in card read on my current machine has never worked properly; one would think that after more than a decade of HP building garbage computers that IT would stop buying them, but alas). The new IT guy has great difficulty with human interactions combined with a slavish devotion to the standard corporate image. I'm a special flower with specialized software so I will spend the week coaxing the IT guy into correctly installing the software and making sure it runs correctly. Every digression from the standard image makes him try to hide under his desk. This will be fun.
