Closed Firefox to deal with it using up tons of ram and CPU %, but when I forgot to close the smilie's mini window first, causing me to lose the option to restore all my open tabs on relaunch.

Ctrl+Shift+[T,T,T] doesn't do it? Works in Chrome.

Apparently not in FF. If you close all your tabs first while another FF window is open, all the tabs are a goner.

Have a $10 off $10 coupon from JC Penney and it expires today so I went out to the mall even it was raining.

Talk about emptiness in the mall, more employees in the stores than shoppers.

Purchased 3 polo shirts on red tag clearance and total price was .......(after the $10 off $10 coupon)

$1.24 including sale tax. :D not too shabby.

Craigslist buyer checks his email around 8pm once a day... I want to get rid of something and it's taken days to even begin to arrange a meeting place/time. Worst part is that another person, who appeared to answer his email promptly, expressed interest after this guy...

Must have had waaay too much to eat last night because I had bad indigestion all damn night and morning. I awoke and just started downing a bunch of anti-acids and Pepto Bismol. Got about four more hours sleep, awoke and still had a slight pain near the top of my stomach. So I took some Kroger alka seltzer.

One of my monitors at work died on me. Sucks because any new one I get will be different, I'm kinda picky about all monitors being the same. These are such an oddball resolution too, wont be able to find one that matches in resolution either. I found the same model on ebay but because of how ridiculously expensive ebay shipping from the US is it's cheaper to buy a new one from a real retailer. Seriously, 70 freaking dollars to ship a monitor that cost 80 dollars? Completely insane. Meanwhile I can order stuff from china and get free shipping.

My ninja mice are back. I've had the bait stolen from trap five times now. Last time I modified the trap to have a hair trigger(it went off three times just placing it), and the bait was still gone this morning :^D

I wish I knew where my Victor traps were. I'm using some junk now with an obviously defective design. I guess I need to go to the store, and get some better traps.

Every time I start my car, I have to push a button to re-enable cruise control.
My old car had a latching button for cruise control, so it was always enabled.

Final Solution for Mice:
- Victor mouse trap with toothed trigger at Amazon. Anything else just isn't worth it.
- Dried cherry, preferably the ones with a bit of sugar. I prefer Mariani brand.

Bend the toothed end up a bit with a needlenose pliers.
Put the cherry beneath the teeth.
Bend the toothed end down into the cherry to secure it in place.
Eat the remainder of the delicious cherries

One cherry can catch quite a few mice before it's either too old to be of interest, or until one finally manages to nibble it away.

They get a whiff, take a few licks or nibbles, and then get greedy and try to take the whole thing. Since the skin is fairly tough, they bite down and give it a good tug. Some end up dying with their teeth still lodged in the cherry.

I had the kind with th flat pan. The key is the bent wire that fits onto the shallow notch on the pan. The ones I have now have a wire that goes into a hole on the pan, and its holding power is too strong. I tried bending the wire to encourage it to come out of the hole, but I guess it wasn't enough.

For bait, I use ancient Nutella. I had found it forgotten in the back of the cabinet, and as I was getting ready to throw it out, thought it would make good mouse chow. It's very stiff, and holds to the plate well when you mush it onto the bait pan.

I've set this trap for the last time as-is. If it doesn't work, I'm gonna smear Nutella on a piece of jute, and tie it to the bait pan. That should work til I get some decent traps.

I highly recommend the electronic traps. Victor makes one that has a trap door that drops into a slide out drawer. So as each mouse is electrocuted, they get Sweeney Todd'ed into the receptacle. It can hold about 3 or 4 mice before the trap door starts to get stuck.

And the beautiful thing is that it's built so that the mouse has to stradle the electrodes in order to get to the bait. Once the circuit is complete - zap.

They are on the pricey side though. amazon has them for around $90. But if you have a persistent mouse problem, they're well worth it.

Someone I know bought a snap/kill trap when there was one whole mouse last year. Except she didn't know it was a kill-trap and would make a bloody mess. The dozen glue traps weren't doing the job so she decided to get something else. In the end, the mouse jumped into a heat vent... the heat vent was a straight drop to the basement from the second floor.

Score!

bR0tDVl.jpg

I couldn't find my jute cord, so I cut a piece if sisal with the intent of tying it to the bait. It was too stiff, so I just mushed it into the Nutella. That was enough to make mousey have to work more, and spring the trap. I still have some bait left too.

Who's the big winner today?

Me!!

I hate having mice in my home... but I feel bad for that thing with the broken back -- and the one that jumped into the furnace last year.

My own problem: I made 500 ml of Bisquick pancakes and turned them into 3 gargantuan thickos. Holy shit that was a lot of food. The recipe on the box said it was good for 12 pancakes. I thought that was to feed little kids or something, but I was done 1/3 of the way in.

P.S. I've been using poverty cookware my entire life. I bought a $120 stainless frying pan on sale for about half price. That thing can cook eggs and pancakes on very low heat -- like 1 or 2 out of 10 on the knob. Old non-stick seemed to barely get hot at 5.

When I make pancakes for myself, it's a bit less than a cup of mix with added whole grain cereal to take it a bit above 1 cup. That fills me without being overstuffed.

I really don't like killing mice, especially using something as dishonorable as a baited trap. If they weren't destructive little assholes, I'd give them food and water til the end of winter, and see them off in spring. I can't have them chewing stuff, and getting in my food, so traps it is.

Or diseased, or filthy enough to use every square inch of your house as a bathroom.

On the other hand, I can't help but think that it's kind of a favor.
Options for dying by properly-baited trap: Suffocation if it snaps on their lungs, or a quicker death if it snaps on their neck.

Options for dying in the wild:
- Eaten alive.
- Disease.
- Severe injury that leads to disease or bleeding out, or inability to get food.
- Starvation in winter.
- Freeze in winter.
- Maybe old age, not likely though.

Things can be pretty shitty out there if you're a small prey animal.

Some manner of treaty would be preferable.
- Eat only what is left for you.
- Use a dedicated bathroom area.
- As much sex as you'd like, so long as you're sterilized.
- Various areas are off-limits.
- Some machinery can be really dangerous. Live here at your own risk.

Went to an indie game shop for a replacement Nintendo Super Famicom / Nintendo Family Computer AC adapter (they use the same plug). I recalled that they had a Nintendo Family Computer on display and thought that they might also have an original HVC-002 Famicom Family AC adapter that works with FC and SFC (SFC never included an adapter).

The guy I talked to knew a lot more about power adapters for imported game consoles than I thought and even owned an SFC himself but he kept insisting that I could use any Nintendo adapter. I told him that the US Nintendo Entertainment System adapter was actually AC the first time he said that and I didn't want to argue, so I tried not to bring it up again. I just wanted to buy a Sega Genesis AC adapter or one of those newer switching PSUs suitable for multiple consoles (like those from Retrobit) and be on my way. He repeated again and I agreed that a third-party NES adapter would do it (they output DC almost as a rule which the internally-rectified NES is also compatible with).

He was happy to sell me what I wanted but kept insisting "you can just use your Nintendo adapter" even after I had paid. He still wasn't getting it. Saying it that way is going to make someone ruin their other consoles when they try a Nintendo-brand NES AC adapter. I finally had tell him that they will switch polarity at 60hz and potentially fry anything else and that I never realized it was AC until I saw a Genesis making a horrible buzzing noise as the screen flashed at 60hz. I'm not just talking out of my butt.

Even now I am not sure that he understood despite being a fellow retro import game nut.

*sigh*

It felt like talking to the geniuses here who think they know everything in the Nintendo PlayStation prototype thread.

She lacks the killer instinct, and catches/releases til I get tired of hearing the mouse scream, and take it away from her. We make a good hunting pair, and I can catch them live, then take them for a long walk. The mice tend to stick to the cabinets, and my cat can't get to them though.

I have to research how to reset and wipe my Kindle because I'm tired of the thing and getting rid of it -- I don't like using tablets/readers/anything but my PC.
