helped a relative get her laptop back up and running, there's a big bright spot in the middle of bad pixels (at least a quarter inch in diameter). She was originally talking about replacing the laptop before I fixed it up. Anyways, I made the quick comment that the screen is replaceable (so she knows she doesn't need to buy a whole new laptop), and the response was, "There's a bright spot on the screen? I never noticed."

And I'm like... crap... now she's going to be fixated on it forever...

First world problem is if you already maxed out the $500 eBay Bucks for the quarter and can't earn more until 2016.
 
I'm practically giving an old exercise bike away but to avoid liability issues, I'm going to have to hump the thing out the door and down a few steps. FML, it's heavy. I can lift but really heavy.

I gave up my treadmill this summer. That sucker is insanely heavy. The Sears guy assembled it in the house. Anyway, its gone to charity and I hope they get decent money for it. Did not envy the volunteers who had to put it in their truck.
 
My Amazon package is shipping from freaking Richmond, BC. I hate it when my packages come from the west coast. If a Murican no get the geography, that's like shipping from LA to New York City.
 
1. The normal closer of our office left it unsecure when he left last night. I got the call to go back in to shut it down. Looks like I get to leave 1.5 hours early today to make up for it.

2. Got the flu shot and a Tdap vaccination (tetanus), one in each arm. Now both arms are a little sore.
 
Made my second cake... turns out you do need to watch the sucker. I browned the top, didn't burn it, luckily -- still lifted the top layer off before adding frosting.

And I almost scratched my full-frame camera with the tripod screw -- why the hell didn't they add a bare metal plate around the screw hole to avoid this?
 
I want a book (cookbook), and I want it now, but for some reason, the Kindle version is more than a dollar more expensive than the hardcover version.

I guess this is really more of a first-world "you know what really grinds my gears" situation. It irks me when the eBook version isn't cheaper than the print version, especially when it's not significantly cheaper. And more especially when it's in a crappy Kindle format (autoflow, yuck!) instead of a nicely-formatted, page-design-locked PDF file. I've worked in publishing before and I know the cost of printing a book. And I know you need to make your money back & also make a profit on it, regardless of the medium, but it's such a crock when there's no significant price difference in the electronic vs. print version. And as a consumer, when the eBook version is a lot cheaper, it becomes an impulse buy. I can understand for certain things like say Twilight where the target market is going to buy it regardless, so why not jack up the price, but this is a cookbook! What would have been an impulse buy is now something I'm hesitating on, because maybe I'll just get the hardcover...but I like having digital copies for convenience...arg!!

Buy the hardcover, donate it to the library, find the ebook elsewhere.
 
Gotta wake up early tomorrow to get rid of an exercise bike. Then I have to take public transit to the other end of town to sell another batch of crap and come back to sell the last batch...

I'm with you man! Had to get up early today to bring my car in for an inspection, oil change and to plug a flat. Simple stuff, but the only slot they had available was 730AM. I'm waiting for it as I type this 🙁
 
Morning is the best time of day. Quieter, air's fresher, and you can drive without 6 million retards impeding your progress.

I would agree with you if you said 'mornings on the weekend'. I'm on the road at 530 or so during the week and there are plenty of idiots out already.

I do love the morning though. Nothing like waking up, making a cup of Joe and a nice breakfast and slowly enjoying it without having to rush out the door.

I have to drive lot for work, and it's probably the worst part of my job. I enjoy my "premium" shopping trip I do once a month when I go to Wegmans. It turns into a clusterfuck when you hit it at normal hours, so I go before 8am. The only bad part of the trip is the main road with several lights. Nobody there, but the tard that programmed them ensured you got every one of them if you got one. Too many cops looking to pad their usefulness report to just blow them off.
 
Two year old air handler fan motor in the heat pump went out when the previous one ran almost 20 years.

At least the motor was still covered by warranty.

I guess that was yesterday though.

730 on the LIE going westbound? You're absolutely correct I want no part of that....though sometimes I am. That's when I zone out, listen to music and relax. No reason to get frustrated and drive like a maniac to gain 20 seconds on your commute.

Also - I miss Wegmans SO MUCH. I would murder someone for half a dannys favorite on wheat with lettuce tomato onion & banana peppers. 🙁 The bread... Oh my God the bread.

So, my Craigslist exchanges happened and I still have a face. The latter two sucked ass. I didn't know they were closing the subway this weekend but found out early enough that I planned ahead. So I took a slower alternate route to the supposedly open station. I got there, fuckers said that station was closed both ways and I had to hop on a bus four stops over... I left early so I had time, but it was cutting close. Tried to get a taxi, first one stopped for someone else, I realized I had no chance, so I walked a kilometer. Made it like 15 minutes late...

Traffic in my city is fucked between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm. My old job had a free for all for a few decades -- set your own hours as long as local manager is okay, get your work done, whatever. Then some genius decided to make it corporate wide to standardize hours. It forced everyone to join the already congested highways and public transportation system. Commute went from 1 hours, 40 minutes to 3 hours.
