What first world problem did you have today?

My trusty tablet's fan bearings died, and it has fully sealed bearings that can't be oiled to restore them to working condition. I'm leaving for a business trip soon. I didn't hustle on the fans because I could easily throttle back the CPU when I didn't need all of it, and because POS fan bearings are pretty common and easy to oil. I didn't expect to find sealed ones.

Replacements would take 2+ weeks to even ship from China.

So I bought a new tablet. (The original one was a bit sluggish, so it may have been time anyway.)
The new one's USB ports didn't work at all, the soundchip disappeared from Device Manager completely on the first bootup and never came back, and the volume-down button didn't work. It's probably just a loose ribbon cable that a warranty-voiding tablet-opening could take care of.

A replacement, which hopefully sucks less than the first one, will be delivered to the company I'll be at while I'm away.

Since I am not a proud owner of a smartphone or any other Internet-capable portable device, I might need to listen to music on my MP3 player, or.......read....a book. A book printed on paper.

Ordered something from Amazon on Wednesday. Was supposed to arrive Friday. Shipping showed it arriving a day early (Thursday), which never happens, so that was weird. Didn't show up Thursday. Or Friday. Or Saturday. Yesterday, the tracking number was showing it was still due Friday (i can haz flux capacitor?). Today, the tracking number just has an error & doesn't know what's going on. I chatted with Amazon reps & they have no idea and said to wait until Tuesday to report it as MIA & to do a replacement. Amazon & UPS are usually pretty solid for delivery dates, so this is pretty unusual.

TL;DR: Amazon's free 2-day Prime shipping let me down. #firstworldproblems

30C *IS* hot. Anything above 25C requires A/C. 20-25 is perfect weather to be outside or go swimming etc. Anything higher and either have to be in the water all day or in the house in front of A/C. Just walking outside means instant sweating.

We had a heat wave last week, was 30's most of the time, even at night it would only go down to 25 which is still too hot to open windows. I survived though, I do have a portable A/C unit and it got me through but it was really starting to get hot in most of the house. It's times like these I'm glad I work an office job, so at least when I have to go in to work there's A/C. Especially in my building given how critical the equipment is. They put in two 30 ton units in spring, it gets down to like 15 in the equipment room lol. A tad too cold though, they're still in the tweaking phase of the installation. Usually try to keep it at like 19-21ish.

It is hot at 30 C outside, but with windows wide open, it's usually only mid-20s indoors since the sun doesn't hit directly much and the building's insulation does some work.

I didn't have A/C at home as a kid so I can now deal with it pretty well up to 32 C -- don't even need a fan or a window nearby.

Saw Garrison Keillor yesterday. Pretty good show, but I'd have preferred less music, and more character bits. He did Guy Noir, but no lives of the cowboys, or the mother bit. No commercials either. Oh well. Glad I went. He threatened this was the last tour, and it was cool seeing a classic.

I stopped being able to even comment on videos, the button to submit is just greyed out all the time. Stupid youtube, they've butchered that system so badly since the G+ crap. Well even before it was pretty bad. I hope they fix it when they get rid of G+ which I heard is going to happen soon.
