I'm not sure that's a first world one....
I'm joking, dental isn't included in the compulsory package here either, at least the regular maintenance, I don't know about bad teeth.

Well, it was here a week ago I guess....

A package I'm expecting (USPS) arrived in Forest Park (less than 20 miles away) on Thursday. I was hoping it would come maybe yesterday or today. Nope. Not till Monday. It's just sitting there for days.

Election here is like 4 months away but I'm already being spammed with effing negative political ads on TV and internet in-stream videos.

In a third-world country, there'd be no election, or I'd know exactly who my vote would be counted for.

Just watched the documentary on big bird and now I'm worried I won't make enough impact in the world.

I know right?

Fucking big bird.

Google Earth Pro took it upon itself to remove Google Earth shortcuts from the desktop and start menu. Also, mountain peak labels have vanished from Google Earth and Pro.

Use openstreetmap. You can then add the labels, and make the world a better place.

Just twisted my foot badly on uneven pavement. I know my ankle is going to swell up like a grapefruit as soon as I put weight on it because the same thing happened to me almost exactly 15 years ago (whenever the last day of Fantasia 2000 in IMAX was). My ankle has never been the same since, which no doubt contributed, but it was mostly because the concrete curb was higher than the asphalt in only that corner and so a few leaves had clustered there (caught), hiding the dip.

Cooked more steak than I can eat in my sous vide machine.

Now I have an extra pound of juicy sirloin filet ready to go & am too full to eat it

Get a hard boot and wear it religiously for 10 days. You can thank me later.

Yeah. I noticed a coworker wearing one recently and I got something similar 15 years ago. Where can I buy one? I need to go to the doctor but I have to go into work to get my insurance details and I may as well stay and work for the rest of the day (sit in my office).

I climbed the stairs with crutches last night and I'm really dreading going back down today. :(

Still haven't found a new job, was depressed and slept most the day.

I guess I really didn't look either, should at least file for unemployment I guess.

Had to mow the lawn today. Lawns are the biggest waste of time and resources around. Grow it up, cut it down. The stupidest amongst us fertilize it to make it healthy, with faster growth so it can be cut even more. Mowing grass is exactly as stupid as moving a pile of rocks from one side of the property to the other, every fuckin' week....

Didn't know you were out of work. Machinist, right? You should be able to find something before unemployment runs out. Definitely file for it. You paid in(through lower wages). Not collecting would be leaving money that's rightfully yours.

After reading a few of the 401k threads here (and even posting in them) I'm still torn between leaving a previous employers 401k with fidelity (possibly rolling it into a fidelity ira) or rolling it into my current employees 401k which is Vanguard. The plan I am in with VG is a simple target retirement plan. Reading some articles on this is like reading hieroglyphics. I guess this is why I majored in engineering. My target retirement date is 2050 - how depressing :(
