Had to mow the lawn today. Lawns are the biggest waste of time and resources around. Grow it up, cut it down. The stupidest amongst us fertilize it to make it healthy, with faster growth so it can be cut even more. Mowing grass is exactly as stupid as moving a pile of rocks from one side of the property to the other, every fuckin' week....

Haha yeah if I lived in an area where the mowing season was more than 2 months I'd probably find a way to automate it or at very least just a remote control lawnmower with camera so I can do it from work.

Didn't know you were out of work. Machinist, right? You should be able to find something before unemployment runs out. Definitely file for it. You paid in(through lower wages). Not collecting would be leaving money that's rightfully yours.

Yeah, I'm gonna.

Toolmaker, yeah.

Just trying to get my head back together atm here.

Still have a few hundred grand laying around I've never cashed out, and not really planning too atm.

The way my back hurts these days am tempted though.

Would be nice to go nuts before I go.

Lend it to me and I'll give it back whenever you like.

One of our three air conditioning units went out yesterday evening. The other two units were still operational. Since it was actually somewhat pleasant outside, it never warmed up past 76F. Nonetheless, I had to be slightly uncomfortable in a third of my house for a few hours today. Now that the unit has been replaced under warranty, I cranked it down to a pleasant 70F for sleeping.

my boyfriend left me coffee and breakfast on a rolling cart in the bedroom, but it's too far away to be able to drag it over next to the bed with my cane. I'm going to have to get out of bed if I want coffee after all.

Have to decide between Hawaii Miami and Colorado for a vacation with kids this summer. I want to go to Hawaii but the travel is so long with 3 five year olds that just going to Miami to our beachhouse seems like a better plan.

I want to go to colorado without the kids ><

I email my tax lady for suggestions to save on my income tax. She responds....
LOL!!!!

Seriously the only thing I can think of right now is maybe some sort of retirement SEP or something – that way the money is put back for you and you don’t pay taxes until you take it out when your tax rate is lower.
:( I think she's the devil.

In the desert many people had smooth sand with stone gardens. Once you set it up nicely you never have to worry about it again.

But if you live anywhere outside the desert I bet the HOA or city ordinances keep you from doing that.

I'd like have eastern hardwood forest on my lot, but I'm too old. it would take too long for the trees to grow. There's also overhead wires, which are a real PITA.

I have a bunch of trees already. I still haven't turned on the ac cause the shade helps keep the house cool, but I'd like to blot out more sun, and grow ferns, and other forest plants.

It's 107 Freedom degrees out there with rising humidity. A great afternoon to go to the landfill, I say.

That's 41C. D: That's just completely insane. If it even remotely got that hot here I'd probably have a couple redundant AC units and stay indoors at all cost. That's worse than -30. At least at -30 you can stay warm by dressing up for it.

Made some delicious sesame chicken I found on foodgawker for dinner tonight. It was easily better tasting than any takeout I've had delivered here. Now when I get a craving for Chinese, the bar is too high.
