A show my 3yo son likes was taken off of Netflix streaming and also isn't on Amazon streaming, so I had to buy a DVD set and watch a disc like some kind of caveman.

(Aside, he totally does not get the concept of physical media.)

I replied to a few posts on ATOT, but no one quoted me.

Thought we were family.

🙁

*cries* sniff.... You did not see my quote ? Sniff... :'(

On a serious note, and posting in the first world problem thread : 🙂

I just made a delicious stew. Made up of cooked and mashed : White onions, carrots and potatoes. Then i baked some sliced champignon mushrooms together with some shawarma herbs flavoured meat, and added that to my stew. After a bit of stirring and mixing, i was ready to eat.

Now i am full, but i still want more because it tastes so good. :|
I have to wait until tomorrow before i can eat my delicious stew again. :|

Got my shoes shined and literally right after I step out the door of the shoe shop I scraped the top of my shoe when it got stuck in a piece of uneven concrete.

I had to lol at this

Wore a dust mask/respirator for 4 hours yesterday and I can still smell the damn mask. It had a really light odor that's been making me sick for a day.

Went way over on my per diem because I wanted seafood instead of land animals. The lobster wasn't even that great. 50/50 if I get reimbursed for all of this.

If you get a per diem, you get a per diem. If they pay meals, they pay meals.

There should be no 50/50 about it.

My friend was comped a room at a very expensive luxury hotel here and was given a $75 food allowance. Doesn't cover a full meal there. Even a simple sandwich and soap from room service was over half of it 🙂

He had to come out of pocket $50.

The travesty!

Not sure what world you live in, but I get a per diem of $X for breakfast, $X for lunch and $X for dinner. I can expense whatever the hell I want if I am with a client. On my own, I stay within the per diem and pay out of my own pocket anything that exceeds that amount.

EDIT: it has been this way at all of the companies I have worked for (all Fortune 500).

this, kinda.

they break down the daily into breakfast/lunch/dinner and then it has a daily "total" on the T&E guide; I'm not sure what they're doing in practice. I'm out $20 if they calculate it on the daily basis. I'm out...$60 if they calculate it on a per meal basis. Historically I've gone over the per-meal basis w/o issue, but never this much.

You realize you just agreed with me? BTW saying a Fortune 500 just makes it sound like you are another help desk/call center drone.

My previous plan was a flat per diem for travel, I was paid a flat amount per day no matter what my expenses.

Now the plan has changed and an expense must be entered and will be reimbursed up to the limits of the per diem.

The thing that sucks is part of a per diem is really also covering the items you are still paying for and possibly have to pay for again while traveling like internet service, fitness, etc.

I liked the old way better.

Yeah, many companies (mine included) now do it on the per meal basis.

I have found based on the government guidelines lunch and breakfast are usually easy to hit, but dinner is usually a sacrifice especially in higher cost areas.

I always buy precooked potato slices to make baked potato slices. Baked in Olive oil. 😎
Now i tried to make my own baked sliced potatoes. I peeled 3 potatoes with my special knife. And sliced them up. But i did not cook them first.
As it happens , it takes longer to bake the potatoes. Something i just found out while eating half raw potato slices. I decided to continue to bake them for a longer time. I sure hope i don't get ill because of eating a few half raw potato slices. :|
