me using a can of Krylon to paint a $1299 cell phone, what could go wrong??

I mean aside from me doing the quality job of a 6 year old. Also spray paint might mess with the Magsafe thingy.

BUT on a side note, I just looked and Lowes has that Krylon in stock! And it says they have 10, so they should definitely actually have it. Maybe it's destiny I try to spray paint my new phone.

Nah, that will just make them feel they need to explain to me it's only because iOS is missing a lot of the good features of Android and you can't do shit on it. Maybe I'll take my Android phone and tablet with me everywhere so when I encounter an Androider I can at least try to shut them up by showing them I do have Android devices

I find it's the opposite, if you run Android people see you as being "lower" than them. "You don't have an iphone?!" People think you're poor or something even though Android phones are not really that much cheaper. I think I'm pretty much the only person in my family running Android and I'm seen as the odd man out. There are even certain features that work differently on Apple than Android, like for example when they send group texts and send a video it's super low res for me. I always thought it was just the norm of SMS video, but suposedly on Apple the res will be high. Stuff like that will make people look down on you as an Android user.

I tried that with some electronic gadgets, and though the result was not a disaster (nothing broke - obviously I disassembled the thing first and painted the housing and then put it back together again) the paint job didn't come out as hoped, despite sanding the anodized aluminium casing down and using car-body spray paint, it just looked as if I'd used a brush and emulsion paint - quite crude and prone to scratch off very easily.

No silky-smooth high-gloss car/high-end-PC-case-paint-job effect, looked very amateurish. Then gave up and just bought pre-customised parts from China via Ebay, but am curious if there's a trick I missed for getting that high-gloss effect.

I'm kinda anti-Apple because of their Apple tax but I have a gifted iPhone 6S Pro and an M1 Macbook Air that I was forced to get because it seemed like the only good deal I was gonna get in return for the NIB 3060 Ti FE and NIB PNY 3080 10GB that I had stupidly bought thinking they would last me a few years and then I started seeing benchmarks all over the place where low VRAM cards were getting hammered hard and I just lost all love for these two cards (selling cards here in the local market sucks).

Anyway, the iPhone is used just for Slack and I have to charge it just once a week and even when I have to do some web browsing on it, the battery percentage goes down really slowly, against my expectations as I'm used to the battery draining quickly whenever I do the same on my Android phones. The MBA seems to be THE laptop made in heaven. So light and free of flex and battery is awesome. Just wish it didn't have MacOS on it.

Well I encounter a decent number of Android users, and a lot think because they use Android they're some sort of technical super wizard. And the meer mention of something like an unlocked bootloader or the XDA forums will give them a stiffy. Also, they consider iPhone users idiots who don't know how to use a real OS (Android) So yeah many iPhone users will call Android people peasants and laugh at them. Whereas Android users like to insult iPhone owers intelligence and laugh at them. I own both, and I have rooted/jailbroken both so I don't know what either group would think of me. I mean I was stupid enough to buy an iPhone, but I know how to use ADB and can unlock a bootloader, so maybe I'm only half stupid?

The way Android compresses videos sent from an iPhone is mindboggling. When an iPhone person sent a video to my Android I thought she was playing a joke to mess with me. But I did some reading and discovered it wasn't her. The video looked as bad as the 1st cell phone camera I had that shot video in like 120p lol. The depressing thing is this was a female I had been harassing off and on for YEARS to shoot a topless video for me. I never thought she'd actually do it, and when she did it was so lo-rez I could barely make out what it was. If I had an iPhone I would have had glorious 4k DD action. Stupid Google...

This is SMS. It's a known Apple/Android thing. I think Apple does on purpose to try to get people to switch to Apple. They do lot of weird things like that. What I find odd is how does it even know what OS the recipient is, SMS is SMS, it shouldn't really be able to tell. Wonder if there is a way to spoof that from the Android side so the Apple phones think I'm also using Apple.

I tried to login to my natural gas account but they seemed to have changed their account system and now it's rejecting my login even after I did a password reset. I think when I did the reset it was going through the old system. Why do companies constantly do this shit? They have billions of dollars - and being the gas company, probably a huge record profit this year, surely they can find a way to migrate the data properly so that at minimum, a password reset works.

I don't want to login badly enough, but I was curious to see what my equal billing balance was looking like so far.

No this is a real thing, the video quality for Android people will be unwatchable. Youtube commenters love to put "was this video shot on a potato" or "shot on a calculator" when the video looks bad. iPhone videos on Android look worse than that. Now there may be a video mode you can set on an iPhone so videos you shoot come out better on Android. But out of the box, forget about it. When she sent the video and I realized what it was I rushed and dug up my iPhone thinking if I sent it to my iPhone it might look good. NOPE same shit lol.

She told me had been drinking and decided to send me a video to see if it would shut me up. It was like 1/2 a second long. I harassed her for a while after to please send it again to my iPhone but she said she deleted it right after she sent it. I'll never know if that was the truth I even offered to take some dick pics or videos for her. Tried to buy a phone on verizon.com last night, but got an error near the end of the process that said to try again later. I tried again later, same thing. Went to bed and tried when I woke up, same. Not to be one to give up easily, I waited about 4 hours and tried again. It worked - well almost. It got to the last part but now Visa poped up some warning shit saying for my protection the transaction was declined until I called my bank. Probably because I had tried the same transaction 4 other times so it looked suspicious (which I appreciate) So I called my credit union to get shit worked out, but their system is b0rked and I couldn't get a person. I called like 8 times and never got past the automated menus. I finally got an option to get a callback, but it's been 6 hours and I got no call.

Around 6 I thought I'd try 1 last time, now the Verizon was telling me sorry you had tried too many times and you needed to go to the store to finish shit.

Went to the store, knowing they don't carry the 1TB version of the iPhone 14 Pro - SHIT!
Found out they'd be unable to order it to be shipped to my house - DOUBLE SHIT!
They also couldn't (according to him) match the deal I was gonna get online - TRIPLE SHIT!

I wasn't going to bicker over $75 dollars, so he went and got the phone from the safe, but of course, at the very last step it rejected the application - this is after it said I was approved. Probably due to me trying online 5 different times lol. He called it in and I had to scan my ID and wait over a damn hour to finally got approved. But I had to settle for a lowly 512GB model. He claimed "you don't need 1TB man" which is true, but I also don't need an iPhone 14 if you really wanna get technical. The store closes @ 8 and I think it was 7:55 when I left. I was this close to having to wait until tomorrow to get the phone! Doesn't matter I originally thought there was no way in hell I'd even get approved.

Also, Apple no longer includes a damn charger because they're "green" I have about 4 charging bricks, but not a single USB-C one. My new computer case has Thunderbolt 4 ports, but the MB mounts 90 degrees up so the connectors are at the top and are only accessible if I take 2 panels off, and they're very hard to get to. Also, with how the MB is mounted, the cable will be out of reach and I won't be able to have the phone anywhere close to the front of my desk. QUADRUPLE SHIT! Ironically at one point the guy helping me laughed and brought up how having to wait an extra hour to get a new phone was a 1stworldproblem. Indeed...
