Don't worry, you speeding ticket getters, your newer car will prevent you from speeding cause it knows the speed limit. And you phone does and it will limit your speed. Or your 7 yo will and will turn you in.

Welcome to 1984.

Edit: hope their is an app for boomer's shitted pants.

In all of my 20 years of driving (yeah, I know... I'm still a novice compared to some of you dinosaurs), I've never gotten a speeding ticket.

In a strictly legal sense, I wouldn't be allowed a walker. Imagine, having to get a walker license at the DMV, and who's behind the counter...Perk and Boomer.

Eff...

Went to check out the dryer motor. Only 5 years old and its toast. Gonna have to take advantage of Amazon's "de facto" warranty to get maybe another 5 years.

I only buy from Amazon to drain their money because of a bad incident years ago.

Well, it finally fucking happened.

That abscess got even bigger than the last time.
I sat down on the toilet.
It burst.

You remember the prom scene in Carrie?

I opened Steam tonight and the pop-up with the ads for new games had an ad for Lawn Mowing Simulator. I'm actually depressed now, having learned that this is a thing and people are buying it.

So I hopped into the shower, let the abscess drain, big globs of black blood chunks popped out, then a good stream of neon red blood, then a few more black chunks, and a bit more neon.
Hurt like hell.
Stunk like you would not believe.
Had to soak a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and use it as a makeshift bandage.
The Band-Aids are too small.

When replacing my son's CPU, motherboard, and RAM today, I stupidly dropped a screw that fell into the PSU. I ended up having to remove it out of the case in order to get the screw out of it.

If that wasn't dumb enough, I didn't push down hard enough on one of the DDR4 modules (the side that has the tab that doesn't move anymore), and it was preventing the system from being able to see the NVMe drive or boot. Seriously, why couldn't they leave the tabs like they were pre DDR4, as you knew if the module was fully seated when you got a click on both sides?

Those two mistakes probably added a good hour to the build/testing time.

Should have just let the kid do it...today's kids are complete geniuses...just ask one.

Fckr...you know DMV wouldn't hire me...I have a rather extensive felony record. I get searched every time I walk in the door.

Surprisingly, neither of my kids have ever cared about PC building, or how they actually work. I've built computers ever since they were born, and I was always a little surprised that that neither one ever stopped to ask questions on anything to do with it.

They have always been the kind who have basically been like "Let me know when it's done so I can get back to using it".

Yeah, my kid's generation would rather watch a YouTube video with some "influencer" telling them about something, rather than to take the time to read an article to figure it out for themselves.

IMO it's the reason why an "in depth" site like Anandtech publishes less and less content every year, but sites like LTT, Hardware Canucks, and Hardware Unboxed seem to have a lot more activity.........they shoot a shit-ton of YouTube videos for people to watch (and not read).

I see that a lot in kids today. They dont wanna learn anything. They figure if they need to know something they can just look it up.
They dont realize thats a terrible habit because they are so ignorant. I dont see any way to correct that ignorance. I stopped helping my local VFW with their Youth Outreach program a couple years ago. It just wasnt worth my time.

I'm eating blueberries right now and for some reason this just increased my appetite. You need to see a doctor ASAP... and maybe I should too...

She can't work the tv remote which is why she has caregivers.
We got a new remote with our Apple TV earlier in the year. I kept helping the wife over and over with the remote at first, kindly and sympathetically, then a bit annoyingly. Finally, this summer, when she'd get stuck - I would say 'just press any button - you aren't going to break anything, it's just a remote'; she finally gave in an is fine now. YMMV.

Don't give MY wife any challenges...she's the most tech-incapable person on the planet.
