Wait they brought the appliances right in the house? Most of these places will only bring it to your driveway as they don't want to be responsible for inside. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

lowes will install appliances for you for free. (or maybe it was a special when i bought my fridge during tax free week many years ago.)

they also took away the old fridge. (also free)

they dont do this in canada?
you have to install and get rid of your old appliances yourself??

We don't have Lowes in my city (or in Canada? Not sure if maybe down south has them?) so maybe they are different. But I know Home Depot normally will only deliver stuff right to your driveway. When I bought my appliances it was through a funiture store so they do have movers that bring stuff in. In my case though I was not ready when it arrived so it all went in the garage. Funny enough the home owners left an old Speed Queen dryer that was too big to bring out so I had to dismantle it. The new one fit through the door though.

update this when they agree to pay for damages.
and how you got them to pay

Lowes quickly agreed to a 10% refund for the delayed delivery...now I get to deal with the delivery company for the damage to the floor.

Got demoted at work through no fault of my own; in fact, I've been crushing it. Simply a boneheaded and short-sighted decision by someone who can't make decisions on their own, and this is a direct result of their lack of ability to lead.

Lots of people were in shock, and everyone I talked to agreed this was a slap in the face and made absolutely no sense. I've never felt this disrespected in my entire life.

For now, I'll go to work, keep my head down, do my work, and go home.

Needless to say, I reached out to an ex co-worker and he thinks he can get me a job.

I made it 12 years. That's longer than most, and over half of how long the company has been in business. Went through three promotions in that time, and more than doubled my starting salary, while being put into the profit sharing program (very, very few employees have this, and no one knows about it unless they're in it.)

Yep, time to hop.

And do everything possible to avoid doing anything that was your "old" job...

Does it come with a pay cut? If not, then less responsibility for same pay is always a win.

No point of hopping and giving up seniority, and everything else you've built up. All companies are the same these days, you're just a number, and there's no job security anywhere.

At one point I was paranoid about my company constantly restructuring, it seems every couple years they do it, and companies are so secretive about it so you never know from one day to the other if you will have a job. But I learned to just stop worrying, and to not panic jump to another company. They're all like that now.

Well, it's not as bad as I thought, but it's still screwed up. Coordinator asked for plan from the entire team, we all provided it except for Idiot. Meeting comes around, Coordinator puts it up on the projector, we all agree and say it looks good. After the meeting, Idiot sends an e-mail stating that the plan I proposed needs to change. Apparently Boss gets livid at Idiot, Idiot sends a message to Boss asking why I am involved in the planning, Boss decides she's not dealing with it, flips her shit, and puts Unrelated Guy in charge of our team and causes mass chaos.

Needless to say, the friendly relationship Boss and I had over the last 12 years is completely shot as far as I'm concerned. It sounds like Unrelated Guy is completely on my side (as was/is Boss), so I'll most likely be resuming my position at some point. Either way, I'm still leaving, but not before I ask for and get a raise next week.

Also needless to say, I'll be getting drunk tonight.

Also, President will surely be hearing from me about how Boss simply cannot do her job, and he will more than likely throw a chair because that's how he is.

Suck it up, do your job, cover your back, and be ready (emergency fund, etc.) just in case.

I am hanging on for a few more years to be fully vested at this place then I will be out the door and be a free agent. No more have to work but work on my own term and only when I feel like it.

Went to MicroCenter in person today and the line was probably about 20 minutes long. Walked in and decided immediately I would rather order online. Sorry Microcenter but Amazon was shipping faster than you.

Think my Casio G-Shock's battery is acting up-screen is blank and won't turn on.
(it's a solar-charged model).

I probably need to get my watch out in the sun this morning...

Hopefully that will fix the problem,at least for now.

This was not the sort of thing I wanted to deal with.. early on a Monday morning.

Bought my current G-Shock on Christmas Eve 2018.(Dec.24,2018)..

I thought it wouldn't be having trouble after less than 2 years...

Yuck...I'll have to check my phone for the time...like most people who don't own a watch.

A watch is at best a third world problem.

Starting to really hate TiVo. They bricked my TiVo Roamio with a firmware update (that never got fixed). So I bought a Bolt, now that's starting to die.
Great interface - lame ass company. Good bye after something like 15 years as a customer.

Going to drop cable this year anyway - I'll l likely go with an Apple TV (which is getting updated early next year, grrr).

Woke up with my back hurting so bad I could hardly get out of bed. I called in sick. I used to have a stash of leftover pain pills but they seem to have gone missing.

I had to interact with a windows 10 machine. Gross. I don't know how people say "its fine". Everything about it is just horrible. And holy crap do they ever force you to consent to lot of crap. My church recently got internet and guess because of that it wanted to turn on all the telemetry stuff and there was no way to get out of that wizard. I just wanted to get to the desktop and use the freaking machine! Even task manager would not open up at that point. Was hoping to just find whatever process it is and kill it. I turned it off after I was done, since I'm not sure what internet service they went with and if it's capped. I don't imagine they would have gone with one that is capped though as they got it so they can stream services.

Also what's with modern laptops not having a mic input? Looks like we need to spend more money to buy a Scarlett box.

Oh nose, you don't have Google? You can turn off most of that stuff.

Laptops tend to have headset input, you can just use a breakout cable or usb mic.

Still annoying to have to deal with that crap and it will always turn itself back on. None of that in older verisons of Windows, or in Linux. If I have to spend my time fighting the OS or installing 3rd party stuff to make it usable then I rather not use that OS. This is not my PC though so whatever, was just saying it's annoying to deal with it always bugging me for crap. I just want to actually USE the machine.

Also still annoying having to make or source out a break out cable, when they could just put the freaking jack on there.
