The bank holding my HSA chose to misapply a 2020 contribution to the 2019 tax year and then sent me a nastygram telling me I exceeded the 2019 contribution limit. I sent them a message telling them to correct their error and all would be well. They replied that they made no error and that I should consult a tax adviser. Assholes.

I can fix the error by filing an excess contribution withdrawal and redeposit form. They still have to recredit the contribution to the correct year so it makes work for me and more work for them than if they had simply fixed their mistake. Assholes.

My employer's health plan includes a premium pass through arrangement so they get to pick the bank. :( The real solution is a single payer system so we can get rid of all this non-productive dickery. HSAs only exist because our system is stupid.

No, it's not part of the process. It's a dumb ass trainer. Being too sore to workout again in 2/3 days is idiotic and many will just quit.
I dunno about that. I think he's pretty good, and he DID NOT push me to do ridiculous weights or something like that. I'm hardly doing any weight at all, and he's having me concentrate on form.

I'm super sore cause I get no exercise and haven't for years, and I stressed muscles that haven't been stressed. I thought that working out in the exercise room earlier would lessen it but it didn't seem to. I haven't done it in in probably longer than I remember though.

Yeah, while I'm no exercise expert, I think he's pretty good. Seems like he genuinely cares.

I'm just a real out of shape piece of shit and despite feeling much younger than I actually am, I'm 37 years old and no longer 18, lol.

If I know you're a couch potato, 2 sets max on the 1st run. It doesn't seem like much but you haven't done anything in a while. I'm not a trainer but I have been in a gym since I was14ish....40+ years. I have had those days where I couldn't move because I did something stupid or, when I was younger, an idiot football coach would try and kill us on the 1st day of practice. I really don't like being so sore that I can't move.

I started getting DOMS in my 40's when doing SHIT hill climbs, another cyclist pointed me to glutamine powder. Worked like a charm. Ask your doctor first, obviously. Definitely don’t use it if you get headaches or migraines easily.

It used to be "How do the legs feel today? How do the lungs feel today?" The last several years, "How do the effing knees feel today?" Definitely lost muscle. :(

I need to do more cardio though, I'm actually out of shape in that regard. A few years back I did a full turn of the track near my parents house in under 1 minute. I then attempted to do it on the track near my house last summer and nearly croaked half way. I assume they're all a standard size. To be fair even as a kid I was not really great at long distance running and never been a cardio god. I'm more bursty, I can burst, but not for long.

I never get sore after workouts, but I don't do serious stuff. I'll usually stick to two or three exercises per muscle group (only doing two muscle groups per workout), with three sets of 8-10 reps each at the highest weight I can handle while completing all reps without shitting myself.

When I first started lifting weights years ago, I would certainly feel soreness in my arms for a day or two after my bicep workouts, but these days I'm not even really sore after my workout and I still see some improvement in muscle gain.

Knees, back, blargh. Lost muscle and a lot of cardio output - working on getting more back, but this middle aged shit sucks. Everything hurts, is sore or just plain tired. In HS Track, coaches used to beat us to death first three days of practice - took 2 Advil in the morning for a couple of days an then was fine - didn’t realize how lucky we were!

Yeah I think we did two sets for the exercises I did Monday (squats, lunges, leg press, leg curl, leg extension) and like I said, quite light weights. I might've done 3 sets on the last one, extensions, just cause our appointment was up and he had moved on to help others and I figured "why not." I was surprised at how sore I got after such a pretty light, IMO, workout. But I'm older than I think, and it wasn't a quick-and-dirty-do-half-ass-reps workout, I went through the full range of motion and he targeted all the major muscles in my legs, more or less. So I got owned haha.

Reminds me I need to make a third appointment with him.

It does get better and your initial strength gains will be good. Just be consistent. And proper form is important so +1 for your trainer. Both of my shoulders are effed from years of heavy lifting and bad form.

I'm listening to a webinar that includes three case studies. About forty five minutes into the session the presenters mentioned that all the "case studies" were made up. So the "experts" don't have any experience in implementing their methods, waste of time.

There's so much BS all around when it comes to health, it's so hard to know what to believe. Mostly nutritional health, but even exercise health. All these studies and crap and half of them are all wrong or made up.

one of you dorks posted a link to a wikipedia article that automatically embedded the first image from said article into the post, that post then got reported, which captures the post as it was when the report was made, and so when i opened the report i saw micrococknballs.

also, somehow my ginormous 240 oz jug of laundry detergent got a tiny hairline crack in the bottom of it and has been leaking inside the laundry closest for who knows how long.

LOL! Another reason why I hate it when forum software tries to parse my URLs and do something special with them.

I took one for the team and tried to find an image to post in reply to your post on the same theme but acceptable to policy. I learned things.

Wanted to hear the news on npr. but they have impeachment hearings on. I'd rather listen to a tooth drill. Just a bunch of assholes saying why Trump's a dick, rephrasing the same shit over and over, cause more words=more better or something. It's as compelling as a dramatic phonebook reading...
