My requirement is that you're in school and actually have the ability to learn. And I'm investing in my future diaper changer, not wanting to be one.

Sorry, Boomer.

What the F is wrong with Microsoft? I type HSA into Excel. It corrects it to HAS. I go to the dictionary and add HSA as a legit word. I enter HSA. "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that." HAS.
I figured it out. Office has an auto-correct rule list separate from its dictionary that overrides words in its dictionary. Changing hsa to has was on that list. So I deleted that and now Excel won't piss me off quite as often.

Think I pulled a muscle in my back.

Trying to get dressed this morning..hurt just bending over.

Decided the better part of valor was to stay home from work, and call in sick.

Hoping I'll be healed up by Monday.

It's no wonder people don't have anything good to say about visiting Secretary of State offices. I have to go there to renew my license before my birthday on Jan. 17th (can't do it via mail/online). I was about to make an appointment for Thursday in my home town but realized I needed two services, the license AND license plate. So I was about to schedule that when now there's nothing left in January, only February.

Then I realized that I can actually renew my license plate online or by mail or using their self-serve kiosk, so I do only need the one service. So I try to schedule that again, and all of a suddent there's no openings left in January. At the location by my work, nothing until Jan. 23rd. At two nearby cities, nothing left in January.

Fucking really? It'll take me no more than 20 minutes there. And I can't get in until February? Rigoddamndiculous.

So now I have to sit at the office all afternoon, hopefully I can get it done by 3 hours because I have an appointment at 5 PM today. I mean, I'm assuming I can just wait to be served at the office and don't NEED an appointment?

On the positive side, I've been told it's official and I'll be receiving an offer letter for a new job later today or early tomorrow.

Don’t get too excited, the next update will probably break it ;)

Bought a stack of new work pants a few days ago and threw on a pair to go to work. I grabbed all my stuff on the way out the door: phone, wallet, keys, battery, charge cable, coins, etc. I tried to get it all in my pockets before I got to the car only to find that my back pocket was buttoned shut while my hands were too full to un-button it. I didn't want to scratch my car so I was juggling a bunch of stuff and dropping change on a wet and muddy day where hanging things off the ground is particularly filthy.

I can't say I've buttoned anything into my back pockets EVER, so why does the factory feel the need to close the buttons for you? Even if you're going near pickpockets or something there's no sense in buttoning it until you have something in there. Do people actually button empty pockets or am I the weird one?

Congrats. The best part of your whole rant!
Haha :).

Got the offer letter this morning and signed that mofo. New job starts Jan. 28th. WOOT

And a follow-up to the Secretary of State visit yesterday; I was only there a total of 45 minutes, maybe even 40! Could not believe it. I had texted my brother yesterday about the SOS visits and license renewals and he said he had been there recently and that it was a "disaster" and he waited 3 hours. Which was kinda what I was expecting anyway. Nope! LOL brill

So I don't have a heck of a lot to bitch about today boys. Another night of 4 hours of sleep I guess if I have to list something. :cryingcat:

I do not button empty pockets. Actually I don't button pockets usually even when there is something in them.

I tend to live a bit... dangerously... is how you say it?

Plugs in headphones.
Opens MS Teams to join webinar.
Sound comes out speakers instead of headphones.
Goes to sound settings, all is well, except computer is ignoring the heck out of those headphones like the best dang ignorer to ever ignore an ignoree.
Fifteen minutes later finally finds custom settings in MS Teams that forces speakers instead of leaving the defaults well enough alone.
Finds out that Teams also automatically turned on the microphone, overriding the privacy setting designed specifically to prevent programs from accessing the microphone.

TLDR: Fuck Microsoft.

I actually didn't even turn on my heat this morning on the drive to work (about 15 minutes). I dunno why, because I really hate cold. Not that it was super freezing out, but it was around 32 deg. F or a bit more this morning I think.

I just found out my standard McDonalds meal went up $.01 this year due to sales tax increase. I can’t handle it.
