Got a couple cups from the thrift shop for 66¢ each, and it turns out they sell for ~$50 each online(even with flaws). It's gone from an interesting cup for work to treasure, and now I won't want to use them :^(

It's Finel enamelware from Finland, and look loke this...

The lamp in my street light burned out. It lasted 4 years 3 months running an average of 10 hours a night, so right about at the 15,000 hour rated life. Hard to find the 100w lamps in Mogul base, but fortunately Amazon has it with Prime shipping. Unfortunately it won't be here till Monday. It sure is dark out there....

I will happily swap locations with you.
Whatcha got? I have shitty hot weather and shitty traffic, but some nice mountains and ocean not far away. I'm also not far from major cities, so urban activities are within an hour or two of travel. Oh, and the taxes suck, but O'Malley's gone, and things are getting better in that regard.

If I had to guess - CA? I've got equally shit taxes, slightly less traffic (but still shit), decent mountains up north, and the ocean which is only available a few months of the year. I'm a 1 hour train ride into Penn Station, but that gets old. Went to CA back in March and fell in love.

Oh no no no. It's not nearly that bad. MD. It's alright here, but the weather's getting hotter every year, and it doesn't really excel at anything. The Natty Boh can had "From the land of pleasant living" on the label, and that's pretty accurate. It's never "Zomg! This is awesome!", but it's pleasant mostly, though it gets incrementally worse year over year.

For Mixy, we don't get that kind of cold here. We used to get sustained periods where the high didn't hit freezing, but that hasn't happened in years.

Had to Google Natty Boh. Never heard of that in my life. I guess I learned something new today already - I can turn my mind off for the day.

It is in the middle of October and yesterday it was in the low 90s during the afternoon. I was sweating like bucket when I tried to clean and vacuum the vehicle. It will continue in the low 90s/high 80s for the next few days.

Two brand new iPhone 7 - 128GB models were delivered to wrong address. Had correct shipping address on box but simply delivered to wrong location. UPS trying to track down. Have two trade in phones already tied to those phones. What a freaking mess!!! Damn UPS!!!

Update on this life changing situation:

Both iPhone 7's were delivered to Amazon's return center here in Lexington instead of my house. Why? I don't have a clue. After talking twice a day with UPS for 9 days, I finally called Verizon and let them deal with it since they had to file the claim. I then went on vacation for a week on a cruise (with the hurricane - another first world problem). While on vacation, UPS recovered and delivered one of the iPhones. Verizon sent my second one and it was received yesterday (via Fedex this time). Originally shipped on September 19th and finally received both on October 15th.

First world problem averted for now.....

Almost a month shipping? Was some of that via yak during monsoon season? Sounds like a third world problem.

The phones (along with over 100 more) were delivered to Amazon's return center by UPS, not to the customers who ordered them. Placed them in a large bag and sent to Amazon instead. Took three weeks to get one of them back and nearly a month to get a replacement shipped and delivered. Now to see if I can get the trade in phone credits properly applied since the promotion ended over two weeks ago (Verizon said yes but I have my strong doubts it will go smoothly).

Summer won't fuck off and die. It's gonna be 80 all next week. My week's ruined, and so is today thinking about it.

You take my winter, man. I've been living winter-lite this past week and freezing to death in bed. It's not cold enough to turn the heat on, but the humidity's gone and 20 C feels bone cold.

Fluorescent? Constant buzzing?

Yeah fluorescent, it was random buzzing sound, almost sounded like a fly was stuck in it, it may have actually been that, but could not see one (they're open so I can see the bulbs and everything). It would stop if I turned it off. It eventually stopped on it's own though, so meh.

Couldn't reach my daughter today. Sounded like maybe she lost her phone number. Instead of the usual greeting, the system said the user hadn't set up a voice mail yet.

Also, after reviewing event viewer logs and a bit of research, it looks like the weird "bleep-bloop-bleep" my computer makes every few minutes is my iSCSI LUN disappearing and reappearing as my NIC turns off and on.

So first things first, replace the ethernet cord... except I somehow don't have any spares. (What kind of a geek am I? Yikes!) so I had to order one on Amazon for three whole dollars.

Also, 4AM, can't sleep.
I sometimes think I don't have any spares when I don't have access to my bin of Ethernet jumpers. Then I remember that most of the boxes to my gadgets still contain original / unused cords...
