That went about as smooth as 5 miles of gravel road, LOL. First install was broken, It looked OK but no matter how I looked around it would not bring the NIC up on reboot. Reinstalled from scratch and it was fine. Then I had issues with the configs for my rsync backup application. Long dayTried fixing a remote server with dying drives. failed. Now I have to drive to the remote location (300 miles R/T) in some blistering heat tomorrow.
Try aiming a small fan at your PSU. I have a similar problem in the summer so I have a fan blowing on the PSU. I don't know why it's an issue. the PSU has plenty of power to the computer. but it still wigs out.My system BSOD'd twice within a couple minutes of booting up. *Sigh* Haven't had this problem in months, and I can't blame the Windows 10 upgrade this time around. Haven't changed/installed anything in a while unless you count Steam patches..

SYO first world victory thread. :|Well turns out I only need to go to the camp for 1, not go help with the concrete, so yay! A first world victory, I guess? lol.
That also means I can stay up later for Perseid showers, if the sky clears up, which it looks like is happening.
^A non-light fixture switch with a dimmer? Never seen one before.
Actually, I've almost never seen dimmer switches -- live in a 1915-ish house.
I had wall switch burn out today. It was a rotary dimmer and it was producing sparks and flames. Soon after, the power for the whole street went out. Really weird coincidence.
Moral of the story, never run heavy loads on a dimmer switch. These often rated for only 300 or maybe 500watts. So running even a small 5k btu a/c on it was enough to burn it out.
I should have known that since it had happened to me once before with a normal wall switch. I made sure to replace it with a 1500w non-dimmer switch. I just wonder if I reversed the polarity. Instead of 2 hot wires and a common, it was just a hot and a common - black and white. I wired the black to the black terminal and white to the brass one.

Drank too many beers and ate too many burgers at a pool party, now I have heartburn.
I can understand the appeal of poutine when the weather is colder than polar bear balls but not in the summer heat.I'm hungry for poutine but don't feel like actually getting up to go buy one.
