I really need to register for classes this fall, but I have a registration hold because I didn't take the online student orientation* until yesterday, and some clerical person has to manually lift the hold. (Even though it's all in the same damn computer.)

So I'm sitting here hoping the classes don't fill up, waiting for an email confirmation.

*It's a different school in the same network of colleges - I've taken the same orientation several times already when taking different classes at different (convenient) campuses. Basically, rape is bad (very, very bad, don't do it) and contact Student Services if you think you might get in over your head academically (e.g., before you flunk out.)

Don't understand how the LED bulbs I got from Ikea are US$ 1.00/bulb. Could be that they "Wal-Marted" supplier and/or they used F-bin LEDs from their higher quality lines. Possible loss leader. Hope they don't go up in a puff of smoke. No problems so far.

My wife forgot to put the recycling dumpster on the curb last week and it's full now meaning it will be full until they pick it up next week. I am freaking out what to do with all our recyclables when we didn't even recycle two years ago. I have first world trash guilt.

It was raining earlier today, not heavy but steady (from the storm that dumped a bunch of water in Baton Rouge) and people could not drive. A few accidents happened.

Went into Best Buy to use my GCU $5 off coupon on the Legion CE that stacks with 20% off from gamers club unlocked but they tell me no, it can't be used on preorders as it can only be used on games that are physically in stock at the store at the time of purchase. So I ask if I could use it if I wait for it to come in stock on the 29th and the answer is still no. By then then coupon will be expired.

Fuck. I'm getting the $90 Legion Collector's Edition for only $72 instead of the $67 I was planning on. :(

I don't do a lot of highway driving, but twice this year when I was driving back to town I got hit with a torrential downpour, what terrible luck that was. Not very fun to drive in that. People still tail gate too. I was doing like 100 I'm not going any faster! At times I could feel the car like it was almost gliding, pretty sure I was hydroplaning. Letting go the gas would regain some grip. That was not a fun drive. I guess it's not as bad as winter highway driving. I tend to avoid that especially with fresh snow, it's hard to tell what part of the road you're even on then you have assholes practically trying to run you in the ditch because you're "only" doing 90. To think that drivers are actually worse in Russia than here.

My packages from the U.S. of A. still aren't here 2.5 weeks later. I want my useless shit... Seriously, it takes a week to get stuff from Vancouver, is clearing customs/border really that big a pain...

I'm at work and someone wants a callout for a line issue in James Bay area, trying to find a tech in that region is going to be like pulling teeth, I doubt anyone will even go. I'll probably be stuck dealing with that trouble all night and having it escalated etc.

It's getting dark now, so don't even know if they'd send someone at this point. A lot of those places are chopper access only.

Is it in Concorde, ON by chance? That is where packages go on vacation for a while. :p

No idea:(. International shipments don't offer real-time tracking where I bought the stuff.

P.S. James Bay? isn't that the Hudson Bay's dick?

Yep pretty much.

Got another good one, some guy calling with a circuit trouble (different area) and wanting a callout, but no site access. Umm, how about no. We only send a tech if he can actually get into the premises. It's crazy how companies freak out over stuff being down but don't bother to build redundancy into their stuff.

Those darn verification numbers (captcha and other systems) are hard to read, especially the 0 and 8.

While I was driving home today I had an idiot in a minivan cut me off pulling up to a red light even though they had a mile to make up their minds with a clear road. She waited until we got up to the light to just come on over on me. I did capture the event on my dash cam and really should post it on YouTube.

I think I want a dash cam just in case like yours. Tell me more about your dash cam (model, brand, price, specs, pros, cons, etc.).

I saw an ad for what looks like a new Pokemon game. But I cant find anything about it on the interwebs. Search engines keep returning Pokemon Go stuff, nothing else.

Still waiting for my packages from the US of A. Two separate ones ordered days apart. One's from Kentucky, it does not take three weeks to get from Kentucky to Ontario.

At work we developed a Beagle Bone first prototype cape based on specification of our customer (I did the schematic design and pcb design). Now i am in stress because we will have to wait at least a week before we know it does something at all. All this time i will worry if i might have overlooked something even though i went through all the datasheets with a comb and magnifier glass.
First measurements show positive results. I really hope that next week i can celebrate.

I got my email confirmation Tuesday, but one of the classes had filled. After two days of clicking "refresh" somebody dropped and I was able to slide in!

So my 1st world problem now is my tuition bill.

Ran out of Oatmeal. Now I'm going to have to get breakfast on my way in to work, meaning I will have to spend extra time and money to stop at the grab and go place across the street from my office. Pain in the butt.
