Just found out I made enough in 2015 to not be able to deduct my student loan interest anymore =/

I didn't even know there was a limit.

Probably not, especially for a store brand. PC is Sam's I think, right? I was going to say that since Canada is part of the UK that maybe people there expect genuine tonic water, but nah. I don't really see that. Canada is probably closer to the US than England in terms of culture.

Except Canada hasn't belonged to the United Kingdom since the 1980s.

You haven't been here in the last 30 years if you think our culture is more attuned to that of the US than it is to the United Kingdom.

Huh. Interesting. I could have sworn I checked most of the brands and they didn't have it so I had to buy this specialty brand that was something like a buck a bottle. I'll check next time. Maybe the difference is the amount of quinine. But there really isn't any way to determine that w/o doing GCMS on it.
Are you saying that quinine Tonic water is better than quinine imitation Tonic water?

The British put gin in their quinine Tonic water because it tasted so terrible.

Was looking through my old Amazon orders. Saw that there was a status on gift cards noting if they had been used or not... Looked up a few I sent to someone who went "No Contact" on me and she didn't use them more than 2 years later -- I don't know what the fuck happened there. Free money for Amazon -- only thing I care about.

OK. Out of curiosity, what's happened in the last 30 years?

Doesn't Canada still participate in the UK games. I forget exactly what it's called but it's sort of like an olympics for all UK countries. Or is current and former UK countries? Didn't know how to search it online.

I'm not sure what I'm saying at this point. As I said, I could have sworn that normal tonic water here doesn't have any quinine but I checked years ago so maybe things have changed, maybe the Canadian market actually wants real quinine in their water or maybe I just got it wrong.

Cat just barfed down from above on about $1,000 worth of sealed N64 Funtastic controllers. They are in plastic clamshells but the liquid gets pulled in between the layers of plastic by surface tension, and it was a VERY liquid barf. Also, the hole for the hanging it at retail opens directly to the paper sandwiched between.

Damn cat.

^^ The second law of cat puking in action, "Seek high ground before puking."

This cat usually tries to put it on your pillow or right where you will step on it. :/

Just one of those controllers is worth $600. I'm pretty sure I got it cleaned up before there will be any damage but I have to go to work now and have to leave the rest of this mess.

Janitorial staff cleaned out the fridge this weekend and threw away my vegetable dip. Now I have to eat my vegetables raw.

I've just been offered $100/hr to work sat + sun for a few weeks to drill holes in concrete and set anchors. (500 per weekend)

this is from a different company than my cushy m-f job.

I have a badge for that secured site because of my current company.
the paperwork/background checks/bureaucracy in general to get a badge for that site for a new person is legendary.

even tho it's 50% higher than my normal pay, I turned it down because I'm not a laborer.
my hands were meant to type on a keyboard

Probably a good idea... You'll probably eff up your ears and breathe in a lot of concrete dust doing that. And you might fall and die.

3rd world problem in the first world - I'm on the verge of having a serious fruit fly infestation. I'm certain I've gotten rid of all of the primary sources but now I think they're breeding. It basically means I can't throw anything tasty in the garbage and I've been reduced to putting the appetizing garbage in ziploc bags. I thought that these things only live for a couple of days but apparently it's a few weeks. So I'm going to have to be scrupulously careful for a while.

Fruit flies absolutely love my lamps turned on after dark. The kitchen one is nasty: every time I go to change the bulb, the diffuser has a thousand dead flies/mosquitoes on it. Also, being a night person, they love flying around my desk lamp at night... and dropping dead under it.

I'm guessing you already realize I wasn't talking about you and you're just busting my chops, but in case you're not, I wasn't. I was thinking that any decent junkie would laugh at those wheel locks and carts would disappear anyway.

I think real tonic water has quinine in it. It is definitely bitter but I don't know if the stuff made today has the same amount - a therapeutic amount for malaria. I doubt it. I like the stuff personally but it's hard to get real tonic water.

Oh, anyway they are welded on, no point in bolting it to the cart as all one would need is a wrench or socket to remove it.

Really? I don't think I've ever seen that before. Those carts must cost as much as a new Kia.

I may be wrong, it was raining and I was in the process of body-slamming it on the ground. The bolts might be just recessed somewhere. I guess a custom-metal deluxe cart like Publix uses is probably around $2-300 when you figure in the additional cost of the boot. Some cities have mandated retailers use a boot device because people pushing cart's around town makes for a seedy look. I don't blame the store for using them, I was pissed that there is no sign mentioning you can't go past a certain radius or your cart will be disabled.
