My impact hammer ran out of juice and I had to manually take the lug nuts off.
That's probably a good deal, otherwise you'd still be hammering away at those poor lug nuts. Did you use a wrench instead of a hammer, once the battery ran out?

Get the 12v emergency roadside impact wrench from Harbor Freight. Mine was $25 after their usual 20% coupon. It plugs into the 12v jack of your vehicle or clamps to the battery. As long as your engine runs you shouldn't run out of juice.

I thought I was too good for anti-shake on my camera. A bunch of unusable footage later and FML.

LMAO. Your avatar..... yes. Well done. I applaud you. Please refer to the character displayed in the picture as 'Dick' now. It's only the right thing to do.

I posted a response to one post only to find that when the post went through Thebobo had posted an instant before I did, forcing me to go back and quote the poster before him, copy it, go back, edit my response and paste to ensure it was clear who I was responding to. :(

Dealing with fucking hoarders and borderline hoarders. The hoarder will hoard and fight to the end to justify keeping useless shit, maybe fight physically to keep shit. The borderline hoarder will bitch and moan trying to justify keeping useless shit but eventually give in, but gotta fight to keep that useless shit they haven't used in years -- more like a decade.

Hoarding is such a weird and easy to misunderstand illness. Not only does it make no sense to non-hoarders, it sometimes makes no sense to the hoarder - they just cannot control themselves.

Imagine knowing that what you are doing is batshat crazy, yet not being able to stop yourself - that is what many hoarders go through.

Both my mom and my uncle (her brother) are/were hoarders, but they are/were both very neat and organized about it. My mom's hoard is in my parents' garage, which has room for one person to walk from front to back and to get to the laundry, but that's it (no cars). My uncle's hoard was in his bedroom - he slept in his living room. In both cases, the hoard itself, and the rest of their homes, are/were neat, clean and organized. I have hoarding tendencies that I have to fight quite often.

One hoarder I know is a gambling addict, intellectually disabled, narcissist, and tada, a hoarder whose wares come from dumpsters and garbage day. His pile is anywhere on his property where there's space. If he can fit an empty coke bottle, he'll put one there.

He married a lower key hoarder that hoards on-sale items but is occasionally willing to throw stuff away.

They produced one child that is also a hoarder and a shopaholic. She buys tons of new things at stores then never opens them -- a discount retailer/liquidator is her favorite place. Her piles include her childhood bedroom and mom/dad's house where mom/dad left some space.

My eyes were bigger than my stomach tonight. I could really use a Tums or two right now... but alas, I've none.

I wanted to go donate blood and go for a haircut today, but got up too late, and we are in the middle of a blizzard so by the time I snow blowed the driveway and cleared the car I did not really feel like going anywhere in that because it was too close to rush hour (for a small town, traffic becomes completely ridiculous here at certain times). Also when I was snow blowing my driveway a lot of the snow was blowing back in my face.

Had to spend 3 hours going to/fro Ikea because they didn't ship the small item I wanted. And the self-checkout attendant made me use the handheld scanner for my 2 items. I usually enter the 8 digit barcode manually -- and have 3 items or less -- because I find it easier than trying to get things to read, orient things properly, flattening barcodes, etc. It takes a whole 5 seconds longer per item and everyone else seems to take their time so meh...

saw that McDonalds had $2 for 2 McDoubles so wanted that for dinner.
McD is on my home.

but due to traffic, took an alternate route back home so couldn't get to McD but still craving burgers.

wound up going to Applebee's for their '2 burgers, appetizer, and unlimited fries for $15' special.
tax + tip = $18

instead of $2 + tax for McD.
:(

Not really a problem but I finally figured out what those big drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator are for. You can put fruit in there so you don't get fruit flies. Who knew? :$

I saw some gameplay footage of Tom Clancy's "The Division" yesterday from the thread in PC Gaming and was impressed enough to pre-order. I also registered for the closed beta which started this morning at 7:00 AM EST. The only problem is I won't get to try it out until about 10 PM tonight (at least I could pre-load it last night). FML

my local poolhall had a Thurs special:
free pool 8pm-close with $10 purchase. and happy hr food + drink specials end at 9pm.
win/win for me.

went there yesterday at 8:30pm since I wasn't working fri.
they changed it at the beginning of the year to:
$5 pool 9pm-close. (happy hr specials the same)

so I just ordered 3 beers ($1.50 each) at the bar and no food since I don't need $10 min anymore.
then got a table at 9pm. the $5 was added to my bar tab.

so not only did I spend less ($9.50 vs $12+ because I didn't order appetizers), the waitress that serviced the tables got nothing since my bill is w/the bar.
lose/lose for the poolhall

Found out that the green/yellow sponges we were using to wash dishes/pots for over a decade were more abrasive than we believed - got rid of them last week after I ate a ball of green lint in my pancakes/eggs.

We thought they were fine for stainless steel or uncoated metal, but the green side is apparently impregnated with an abrasive material, so it's not just hard plastic. The nylon brush may actually be softer than that shit.

The classical music cd that I am streaming online is playing the tracks out of order, so I'm not hearing the movements of each piece sequentially. Bach would be rolling in his grave right now.

I had to walk 24 cans of coke et al. home from the stores a few blocks away.
