What first world problem did you have today?

North Bay is too close to cottage country. I think property prices are actually pretty high in the area. Had a friend buy a place close to Gravenhurst. Big lot, nice place, but still $400k about 2 years back. For the middle of nowhere, pretty insane price.

Yeah I'd still want to shop around and figure out an area that I can get land for cheap. That might mean staying in this area. If I did not have to work, climate does not mean as much, it's not like I have to scrape the car off every morning. Heck, I'd have a huge heated garage and lots of vehicles and toys.

No, that's a third world solution. A first world solution would be to heat your house using the exhaust from 2p and 4p server racks running BOINC. You would then have outdoor sensors that would feed an algorithm that would determine how much heat the servers need to produce to maintain a given indoor temp. It would then throttle the servers to produce less heat the warmer it got.

For some reason one of my ethernet cables stopped working at 1 gigabit speeds. It was capped at 100 mbps. Replaced the cable and everything is back to normal. First time this ever happens to me.
