that's a pretty good idea.

I bought blackout curtains for the western windows, but getting up on a ladder and hanging them is obviously on hold until my knee has recovered.

What's the point of having a boyfriend if he can't be bothered to hang up your curtains while you're injured? That's just common goddamn courtesy. Also, clearly a first world problem. But I'd second Kelvrick's point; I got some blackout shades at a prior apartment and they turned the Sahara at noon into Mammoth Cave during a blackout. Excellent for a home theater / computer room where glare is a concern. They aren't terribly attractive, but you can hide them behind some curtains anyway.

WTF lol....that's the stuff the guy in a relationship would usually do anyway. You need a new boyfriend. Let some other girl put up with that lol.

he makes such a production out of the important stuff that I legitimately can't do, I figure let me save the semi-unimportant stuff for when I can just do it myself and spare both of us the drama (ie: I need 2 hands to walk, so I can't do the laundry or clean the house, and I only really started cooking again because he got so passive aggressive about it)

I try to use them (window shade mesh) along with the curtains. My thought is that the mesh on the outside can keep heat from even hitting the window/curtains in the first place, helping keep even more heat from the house. My house has like a combined 100sq/ft of windows in the great room facing west that gets hit by the sun all day long in the summer. It really helped.

Someone scheduled a two hour planning meeting for Friday afternoon. If you're going to do that, you might as well provide attendees with a straw hat, a hammock and a bottomless pitcher of frozen margaritas, because you know damn well nothing of consequence is getting decided at 3pm on a Friday.

I want to buy some batteries to test out but I don't have any battery operated device that needs a recharge more frequently than once a year. And I'm too cheap to get a battery tester with a discharge operation.

Decided to get rid of my subwoofer because I've never really found a good place to put it (i.e. can't really hear it) and am moving towards a less clutter lifestyle.

Now I have a 30 pound cube that I don't feel like Craigslisting. Think I can get $80 -- was $150 about a decade ago -- but I'd pay $80 not to deal with it. Fuq.

My wife complains her TiVo HD is displaying errors about service interruption and requiring activation. Allows her to watch recorded stuff and watch live TV but no recording, weird.

So I connect it to the internet via ethernet, no problems. Then I restart it while Googling which yields no success. It reboots, plays the annoying intro commercial and voila it works again, go figure.

Otherwise they would have received a not so pleasant call Saturday morning.

TiVo HD + lifetime $500 back in 2009, it sucks compared to the newest TiVo Roamio but it was still worth every last penny.

Remembered that my Garmin car GPS is over 3 years old, then found out the battery won't hold a full charge. Totally getting a hiking one next time that uses AAs.

First world problem - I had to suffer through more Jenner & Kardashian news listening to the radio today. Ugh.

Found a flat and sticky Taco Bell bag that used to contain a food item stuffed in the far reaches of the couch. It was probably a bean burrito with added sour cream. It's hard to say because it was almost entirely consumed by the flies we have been battling for years and was covered in empty (hatched) fly eggs. Clearly, they weren't interested in it anymore because it was just a thin layer of sticky moldy black stuff that now weighed barely any more than the bag it was in. It had to have been there at least since last Fall. No clue why we never smelled it. We sniffed everywhere looking for the source of the fly population explosion last year.

Had trouble peeling an effing sticker off a new wooden spoon. I would have gladly paid an extra $1 if they just tied a tag to the hook hole on the handle. Why the eff do retailers/manufacturers still use these mother effing stickers that rarely ever come cleanly off.
