An app? I'm too old for "apps". Aren't they something to do with Gen-Z and phones?

I vaguely remember back the previous time I briefly used wifi something about logging into the router and changing something till the connection worked better. But I can't be arsed. Wifi's just a crap concept that doens't really work. I think I'll just buy a long ethernet cable - would feel a lot more secure anyway (hasn't even WPA2 been cracked at this point?).
Do you drag this into your bed as well?

I'm generally pretty happy with wifi. The only annoyance is captive portals, but I seldom need one anymore with virtually unlimited data. I'm using a cell phone as a hotspot, and it covers my entire house. A little weak at the far end, but it does what I need it to do.

Now bluetooth... That can get fucked. Especially for trivial stuff like listening to music. That problem was fixed decades ago. You plug in a cable, and it JustWorks®. No fucking around with laggy, and unstable connections.

No idea what your point is. If Wifi can't travel three feet through one wall from transmitter to receiver without endless faffing about (yet apparently can travel from a dozen neighbouring homes) it's a lousy technology, end of story.

LoL nothing wrong with wifi, as long as you don't put it into a Faraday Cage and expect it to work.

My wifi actually goes out when we use our microwave. I thought this issue was resolved years ago as well, but alas, I get insane lag when gaming, and when streaming we get the spinning circle icon.

Damn, I hate wifi so much. Such a useless technology.

I used to always use a wired connection, but new phone situation means have to use wifi again, and it's _crap_. Constantly loses connection and getting it back involves hours of faffing about (including ritual incantations, thoughts-and-prayers, etc).

Why is it I can see a dozen different wifi networks that aren't mine, but mine struggles to travel a couple of feet through one wall?

Consumer wifi gear is crap. Get something SOHO/commercial like Unifi. I have a single AP and it just works and I never have to mess with it. I wanted to install more but never had a reason to since the single AP covers the whole house. For anything stationary I always prefer wired though.

Was going to go meet my gf for some Korean Tofu Soup and my car wouldn't start. Turned just fine, lots of power, lots of juice, lots of gas. Maybe a spark plug thing, fuel pump, I dunno. Went out last night to the burbs for dinner with friends, came back home. And that was that. Now I gotta get a tow to my mechanic less than a mile away and get that shit fixed asap. Playing some Apex Legends I get a text from my bank that my debit card just had a suspicious charge online. Well, that was not me. After going through it with customer service, they had to close the card. So I gotta go to a branch tomorrow to get a new card. Jesus, how annoying.

Few years ago. Should I pull it out and see if it starts before I call the two truck?
yes, no air = no combustion. Air filters are dirt cheap, I replace yearly. If the engine runs without air filter then you know the problem. Depending on car you may have more than one. pretty quick test.

You can look at it. If it passes light, it's fine. You'd have to drive through a dust storm, then park the car for a few months so mice filled the housing with nest to have it bad enough to not start.

I made Bacon tonight, I have the worst baking trays ever made. Somehow even Bacon will stick to them. So I smartly thought I'd put something underneath so the bacon wouldn't stick, and cleaning would be easy. I STUPIDLY used Parchment Paper instead of foil. And when I took it out, all the beautiful Bacon grease had soaked into the paper. So now I have no Bacon grease to make my omelet with tomorrow.

I even tried to wring it out like sweat from a towel. But that doesn't work here lol :|

I don't know what your pans are, but try not washing them so great. Soap, water, and a dishcloth. No hardcore scrubbing. They should eventually turn black with polymerized oil, and become stick resistant. Doesn't look pretty, but it works better.

I follow the hashtag #trees on mastodon, and some new guy on pixelfed just blew up my timeline with photos inappropriately hashtagged. They're nice pictures, but most *do not* have trees. I keep my follow list small so I can give everything consideration. I want to see everything that passes my timeline. People tagging things incorrectly fucks it up.

Use hashtags! Use them correctly! Alt text!
