I got food from the Colombian food truck, as she handed me my bag and said thank you. I wanted to flex my 2.3% Spanish abilities and say thank you friend. I said "Gracias, Mi Amor" and about half a second later I realized I meant to say amiga not amor. There was no response from her lol. I go 1-2x a week so it'll be awkward next time because I'm sure she thinks I'm in love with her now.

Are you going to hire the food truck for your wedding? :p

JFC, with the latest update, one has to go through the app list app by app to turn off apple intelligence spying on your every action. Turning off the main apple intelligence feature only turns off the suggestions feature, not the spying.
I hate new phones :^D Thinking of dealing with the bullshit carries at least 50% of the weight keeping me from getting a new phone. The rest is environmental and fiscal. My home phone on Visible gets shitware loaded with the updates. That's annoying as fuck. I have zero interest in proprietary playstore garbage. It's just something else to clean up after an update.

Child 1 does well too, only "problem" is she prefer staying inside reading than go outside and play.
That's the problem that ended up making me hate the real world. Reading books is great but it makes you imagine a world made up of assumptions you get from reading books. The real world is much, much worse and illogical.

My ceiling fan just came on. Why?

It has a remote with a temperature setting and various other controls. I looked that that ... room temperature is well below the 'Set Temp'.

No Low Battery indication.

Do I have a ghost?

When I first moved in my house I used to hear so many weird noises, like doors opening, closing, and sometimes even slamming. Used to freak me out then I got used to it. Has not happened in a while now.

Seriously exasperating how your ISP/broadband-supplier endlessly tries to tell you (via recorded phone messages, or even the actual human help-desk people when you can actually get to speak to one) to 'look on their website' when you have problems with your internet connection not working. Also not helped by their failure to provide any sort of written manual for their router and wifi device, expecting you to look for all that stuff 'on the website'. If I could access any websites I wouldn't have been needing help.

Sucks. I'm glad I have a large overhang at my door so when they leave packages it's always covered. Been meaning to build a box so they can put it in though. Theft is not super bad in my particular area, but it's still bad overall across the board now days. So far I've been lucky. I only had one package go missing, not sure if it was stolen or actually lost in the mail, but the place I ordered sent another and rectified it.

Trying to think of any cheap Chinese shit I'm gonna need for the next... 4+ years... Fucking bullshit. I'm looking at my cell phone holster, and it's getting worn. A plastic clip is starting to come through the nylon, but it could still last a good while longer... Or not. Who the fuck knows?! Get my own warehouse of shit I /might/ need, or roll the dice and hope my stuff lasts, and I didn't forget anything.

Damn, I hate wifi so much. Such a useless technology.

I used to always use a wired connection, but new phone situation means have to use wifi again, and it's _crap_. Constantly loses connection and getting it back involves hours of faffing about (including ritual incantations, thoughts-and-prayers, etc).

Why is it I can see a dozen different wifi networks that aren't mine, but mine struggles to travel a couple of feet through one wall?

Because you need to check which channel is least congested and set yours to that?

This is like rural Mozambique level of problem.

I was supposed to have a USPS delivery yesterday from Amazon. I received a message at 7:15 pm that they "attempted the delivery but ran into some issues". I was home if they would have rang the doorbell. It did not require a signature. And usually they deliver smaller packages in my mailbox, which is functioning properly lol. wtf

On the wifi I briefly used years ago I understood how to do that. Now it's a new system (they are replacing the old copper wire phone system with all-fibre-optic) and a new router/wifi-thingy, and they gave me no information about any of it (far from convinced the 'engineer' who fitted it understood much about it, himself - he seemed to believe that all computers can connect direct to wifi even if they have no wifi adaptor/card - I had to dig my old wifi widget out of the cupboard and set it up myself). Think I'll just get an ethnernet cable and try a wired connection again (Google says that the cable is OK up to 100m, so if that's correct it should be fine, contrary to what the 'engineer' said, that it would be too long).

Umm, it's an app to check channels, then you just go into your wifi setting and set it to the least interference one.

What bandwidth did you get?

An app? I'm too old for "apps". Aren't they something to do with Gen-Z and phones?

I vaguely remember back the previous time I briefly used wifi something about logging into the router and changing something till the connection worked better. But I can't be arsed. Wifi's just a crap concept that doens't really work. I think I'll just buy a long ethernet cable - would feel a lot more secure anyway (hasn't even WPA2 been cracked at this point?).
