There's a post over in P&N that I really want to reply to, I think I have a great joke, and while I typically wouldn't care at whose expense it is (it's a Texan joke) the ultimate recipient is one of the resident punching bags and I don't want to get dragged into a personal insult thing so I'm biting my digital tongue.

1st use, shit design. Who knew metal conducted heat? Aloe Vera plant, ftw.

Oil,salt, pepper on the tuna. Turned out OK.

Yeah... putting that wooden piece at the handle area to somewhat hide the metal loops is a poor design choice. They should have completely wrapped the end or just omitted the wood altogether (so it would hopefully be more likely to register: grab with oven mitt).

I tempted fate by having the garbage builder grade Mansfield toilets replaced by nice shiny Toto elongated bowl universal height dual flush models. Truly glorious waste receptacles. However the toilet gods have now punished me for my arrogance.

Have had stomach flu for four days and have not been able to move more than 20 feet away from one of them. That said....they are works of art.

Feel better! Hopefully, you have a bidet model to ease the external pain often associated with a stomach bug.

I have a friend who's constantly going out of town like every couple weeks. He makes over 100k and always says he's tight for cash. Maybe slow down on travel a little to save money? But anyway it's his finances. The FWP is I always end up being the one having to go check on his cat during that time. Their house is, to put it polity, messy and not exactly upkept and I think that's affecting the cat's litter box habbits to some degree as cats really don't like dirty environments and it stresses them. Today I get there and find a puddle of pee on the floor and poop right next to the litter box.

I try to find paper towels and any kind of cleaning spray and couldn't find anything. Texted him and turns out, they don't use paper towels, at all. What?! He said to use a cloth and just hang it to dry. Gross, I'm not doing that. I want something I can wipe, and throw away, not have to ring out and rinse, and ultimately, get pee or poo all over my hands in the process.

I also discovered that their water heater is leaking and all the stuff around it was soaked. I could hear a water flow noise but couldn't really make out where it was coming from so I shut off the supply to the water heater and could hear the sound stop, so it confirmed it was that. At that point I figured I may as well go back home, get the paper towels and disinfectant, and also a fan to at least try to dry that area a bit. I wasn't going to start sorting out through the stuff, I just left it as is. I let him know about it though.

His fridge is also making a weird noise and the fan part in the freezer is completely covered in ice so it's probably not getting any air flow through evaporator coil to actually cool properly. At this point I just left it alone, I'm not there to start fixing everything wrong with the house lol. It's probably been like that for months, if longer.

I seem to have a weird nack for finding water leaks. I've found some at work too that I've reported to maintenance. It's something that's kind of hard to just look the other way once you see it too. Kind of feel like I need to do something and not just leave it.

I don't buy papertowels either. I easily have a lifetime supply of rags at my age, and likely would if I were half my age. I feel like I'm being wasteful when I use a piece of old Tshirt once and throw it out(when cleaning gross stuff), but what else am I gonna do with it? Otherwise, I'll wash the rags out and reuse them.

My daughter has a dance competition in another state in May. Last night my wife says, "We need to book our room quickly. There's a high school rowing competition in that town the same weekend. Lots of rooms are already booked up."

I go online this morning and find suitable rooms at a few different locations. I hit her up via text, "Hey, which of these do you like best?"

"Don't book rooms yet! I want to coordinate with some of the other moms and it will take several days or weeks for us to agree on where to stay."

"You said there was a room shortage because of rowing and we needed to book quickly!"

"I didn't mean that quickly!"

I'm a fixer. Boss says X is a problem, I work to fix it. When I tell her that I need more input from her....crickets.

I have a manager a couple tiers up who is close to retirement and is one of the vainest people I have encountered (like me, only more so). He scheduled a meeting for next month with mandatory attendance for all employees. It sounded like a planned retirement announcement to me. HR jumped the gun and posted an ad for his position this morning. Best to avoid him for a couple days. :p

Called Verizon to see if the boss needed to do anything special when in the UK. Nope. Didn't bother to mention the $10/day travel pass fee.

Shitheads.

You didn't have to do anything special. Just open your wallet, and verizon will take everything it needs. Nothing you have to concern yourself over!

of course. The ultimate goal now is more than ever - is just profits, quarterly results, bonuses, stock performance (quarterly) and customer service is one area they love to downsize and shitsize for those dollars - in other words they scramble to save the most money at the expense of the actual service they are providing, and provide a leaner and shittier version of, in this case, customer service.

Downsizing, and also shitsizing. A new term about traditional economic processes.

Finally got tired of my keyboard inserting extra characters, and switched over to a shiny, new(er) 1998 model M. I'll make time some time to clean the old one out. I can still make out the price on it. It was either $2.92 or $1.46 depending on whether or not it was half price that day. That's a bargain no matter how you look at it. I've had it over 15 years now.

Need a new headset on my 1.5yo, 1800 mile bike. Why? Been riding 31 years and have never had to replace a headset. Had 15K miles on the Trek and prolly 12K on the Gary Fisher. Then the bike shop said they needed one a few months back and Giant said they didn't have any. What, the damn, eff?
