I pinched my finger on my folding truck ramps when putting them away. There's a big warning on it about it being a hazard and I knew about it, but still managed to do it. Starting to form into a bruise now. That was a dumb place to put my finger. :p
Father in law was using a sawzaw, tried to get more control (I guess) and moved his index finger over the grip. Mashed it about 15 times. And, a month or 2 later, did it again. So there's hope you learned your lesson.;)

Ha, think I posted a pic where my bro in law ran his through the table saw.

Ouch! Table saws are no joke. As tempting as it is to just use my hands I always use the push stick. If you slip up or it kicks back it can potentially suck your hand into the blade.

Today's FWP, I think I'm getting a cold. Woke up with a sore throat, did not think much of it since sometimes I snore and maybe I snored badly last night. But now I'm starting to feel stuffy. Been a few years since I had a cold so guess I was due. And it's usually at this time of year that I get one.

Been doing a lot of running around lately, projects around the house and also coordinating stuff on my off grid land, and grabbing a load of firewood to bring home on the way any time I go, and doing all of this in the intense heat. So maybe tomorrow I need to just take a relaxation day.

The timer switch for my bathroom fan died while I was in the shower so fan and light turned off while I was in the shower. When I go push the button it just flashes but does nothing. I have a cold and really didn't feel like going out today but went to HD to get a new switch. Tabarnak those things are expensive now. $50.

Then I got home and my alarm system glitched and caused a false alarm so I'm going to get a bill for that. This new alarm system is garbage. Instead of just being microcontroller based it runs a real time OS and it's super glitchy. Sometimes it doesn't quite respond right away and often time it will create alarms for nothing because it doesn't register things chronologically. So if I was in the house, set the alarm and leave, the fact that I was in the house decides to register later and then it triggers an alarm. I've also had it where I disarm it, but it doesn't register that I did that. I'm at a point where I might just cancel the service and put in a DIY setup.

New induction range's surface seems to be less oleophobic than previous range :colbert:

Gonna have to clean more. Le sigh.

On the plus side induction is nice and fast. The air fry mode in the oven works fairly well. And the 300 dollar Kirkland 5 ply induction cookware set is decent.

I was screwing around on my live web server trying to get the kernel to probe the newly resized disk but instead it just caused tons of IO errors and I had to reboot it.

It looks like everything recovered ok after that reboot but that was nerve wracking.

With all that, I did resize the data partition, so there's that.

My recliner just broke yesterday :( and I can't seem to locate another. I knew it was coming, been looking for months.
Seems like they are all made for short people now.

You mean you don't get made to measure furniture? That is definitely third world.

While out at dinner, ordered a "compromise" meal I thought my kid would eat. Kid refused to eat any of it. If I had known that, I would have ordered something I wanted.

carry some wood pellet and throw the ziplock bag in front of them and say "well, there is always woodchips."

Yes, it's my fantasy, take it or leave it.

I sometimes use my phone's front camera with the flashlight mode in order to plug monitor connections because it's such as weird angle, well I guess my phone got an update and when you use the flashlight mode, instead of actually making the light turn on, it just digitally enhances the image to make it washed out to simulate a flashlight being on. What a stupid dumb feature and useless if you are actually trying to brighten what you are taking image of. Now I have to use a real flashlight like some kind of poor person!

Well, look at that shit. TIL a light can be activated on the front camera. Not sure what I'm gonna do with that info, but it might come in handy some time.

Yeah uses the same light as the selfie flash but keeps it turned on. Even the selfie flash stopped working, it just makes the screen go very bright to take the picture. I really don't get the point of this update lol.

I didn't know there was a selfie flash :^D I don't really take selfies, and never even looked to see what setting were available.

My Spotify app has stopped turning off my shuffle. Now it keeps turning on "smart shuffle" where it mixes in songs not on my Playlist. So now I have to keep turning smart shuffle off. I just want to play my 20 hour rock/metal Playlist with shuffle!

20 hours?

My playlists on my local, non-streaming media player are over 180 hours each and I have two or three different ones. I generally hear any given song about once every three to four weeks.

That's not all of it either. "Music" is just the tracks I don't mind running into on shuffle. I have a bunch of others I don't want to hear randomly come up.

edit:
For kicks, here's my phone...

Caffeine hasn't kicked in yet. I walked my shoulder into the top corner of the door of my QX50. That woke me up.

Alan Clark would still look down on you.

(Famously once dissed fellow Tory minister and millionaire Michael Heseltine as "the kind of man who had to buy his own furniture" - the implication being that the genuine upper classes inherited theirs, along with the stately home)

iPhone won't charge, no appointments until Wed to have it looked at. It's not under warranty anymore so this will probably cost an arm and a leg. No huge biggie for the next few days. I have an Apple Watch Ultra so I can still communicate until then.

Well, sorta, I can use it to call people, and I can text people, but without the iPhone being on, I can only text iPhones. If I want to text anyone with an Android, or use any service that texts you a login code. It won't work, I was under the impression that with an Ultra you could use it without an iPhone. Verizon doesn't know this, and the Apple CS I spoke to didn't either. So I thought there was something wrong with my Watch or my Verizon service. Thank Jesus for Google or I would still be pulling my hair out.

UGH now I have to actually call someone if I need to say something, this sucks. I hate calling people lol. I also learned that while using the watch to talk to someone, I can't do anything else until I hang up. I never use it to call people so I had no idea. And I just guessed the damn watch would be able to multitask, noppers to that. SHEIEIEIEIT.

Do you have wireless charging?
