Real men step up. If there is a noise in the house or outside they go investigate. They are the protectors.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=real+man

A true man can best be described as rugged and that does not have any fears. A man has a good deal amount of knowledge about tools, cars, the outodoors, knows how to act around women by being a gentlemen, but is not always serious and can have fun with them. Men financially provide for others and themselves and are overall responsible. Men are clean, well groomed, and can have a very short beard to portray that image of ruggedness. True men do not think about themselves. They do not always think about sex. They stand up for what they believe, take responsibility for their actions, help others, they are self confident, physically stong and in shape, have a sense of humor, generous, honest, and are considerate. They provide a sense of security. Men are brave and do not need to show off for their friends nor do their sway their opinions because of their friends. Now even if you are biologically a man, this does not mean you fit my definition of all the components of what a real man is.
A "Real Man" would be like the Brawny paper towel mascot. He has that image of outdoors, strength, confidence, and ruggedness, but what about his character?

what makes a man a man is not the clothes he wears, nor is it the car he drives or the house he owns. all the crap is material bullshit that doesn't matter. someone who leads, who takes risks, who is not content to let life pass him by, someone who makes the most outta every opportunity given to him, who tries and fails but at the very least tries, and keeps on trying. That my friend is a man, it sounds to me u have no idea what it takes to be a man.

These stereotypes, depictions and norms created by the term "real" alone are society-induced for the merits people had achieved for something previously recognized or accredited in society.

The title "real" is no more a laid out guideline for others to follow what examples someone else or something from the past laid out for them.

If someone's pops said being a "real man" means to fight for your country and get killed or shot for an act of bravery, everyone else who isn't from the USA, middle east, or Africa wouldn't be able to be a man today.

Also, being a man, in my opinion, simply boils down to doing what is right and not asking or looking for praise because of it. it is the simple pursuit of doing right by others and yourself.

Exactly. A man is a man because he does what he needs to do. A man does everything in his power to support himself and take care of his family. He doesn't expect something for nothing. He'll also pitch in when he sees someone that needs help.

It has nothing to do with what he wears, drives, or where he lives. I know plenty of real men that drive beaters, have never worn a suit in their lives, and live in homes that can best be described as 'modest'. None of that matters because they still go out there every day and do things that need to be done.

Basing the definition of a 'real man' off the possessions somebody has rather than how they act proves that you yourself are not a 'real man'. A man should be able to recognize when respect is due and the OP apparently hasn't figured that out.

wimp, coward.

take your pick :p

Ive been kicked in the head hard enough to daze me... most people wouldn't do that. :p
I've also had more then one person threated to kill me, and try to kill well drown me anyways, not counting the time someone had come up behind and had is arm around my neck threatenings me as well because he wasn't to appreciate of what I did as he had missed the beginning of it. :(
People are way to sensitive to stuff where I am and often act in violence. :(
And thats with it being a nice area to.

At any rate.. just saying investigating stuff without the proper tools is liable to get one killed.

How would you feel if you got someone you cared about or love killed by having them investigate a sound?

Exactly. :p

Really though most sounds are nothing... and don't need investigation.

And the ones that do the police are better able to handle, well unless you have a gun.
But given that in this country you can be sued by the person that was trying to rob you for all your worth and win even... it's shoot to kill or not shoot at all.

When someone says I'm a real man I imagine an ape sitting on top of a tree pounding his chest. We are all men after a certain point. Some men like physical work, some men never do anything more physical than lifting a pen all day. Some men choose to live a life of crime. We all put our pants on one leg at a time. All this I'm a man bs is nothing more than arrogance and foolish pride.

I think you missed my point entirely. Almost everything I listed was not for the purpose of saying, "a real man owns this," but I was stating behavior that comes from the inside.

"A real man does not own a childish car." Has nothing to do with the car, the car is a reflection of the person. A childish and flashy car will often display a truism about the man driving it.

you're right... being heads of empires with annual revenue of $300 million plus... hardly makes them successful.

Real men are able to provide for their woman... and at $300 million in revenue a year... both are more than capable.

You're stating something that is obviously wrong and you perhaps know it, but you're doing it just to argue with me or save face.

Money is only a very small portion of what it takes to "provide." If they're such great "providers" why the failed relationships? You'll say it was the woman's fault? Yeah right. Those two are just grown teenagers living in a cloud.

Yup like he doesn't like ugly cars. And so therefor has a sense of style unlike the guys that you described. :p
Funny how that works.
