Not a darn thing that distinguishes that imo with a $70 watch.

Am I the only guy on AT who is entirely comfortable wearing a $30 Timex Ironman?![]()
Different strokes for different folks.
Does an expensive watch really keep time that much better? My dad has a Seiko...he was talking with a friend about how they both lose time and have to keep changing them. Granted, they're not $5000 watches, but they're not 30 bucks, either. I don't have to mess with mine..
Plus, if it gets squashed at work, I'll just buy another one. No tears involved.![]()

Sure all these look nice but, with the advent of cell phones, watches are redundant. If one is trying to call attention to himself, try a gold or diamond necklace.

With the advent of cell phones, the brain cell count of our population has apparently plummeted, as you've demonstrated.Originally posted by: seemingly random

I would look into Breitling. I love aviator style wathces. I like Omega but not that one. I hate Tag watches with a passion. My father in law is an old school watch repair guy. I went into his shop one time and he was working on someones 8k Tag and he pointed out the PLASTIC gears in the watch. PLASTIC! And it was NOT a knock-off either. Never buy Tag.![]()
So what am I missing here? Should I still be interested in buggy whips?Originally posted by: jpeyton

How about something 10k+ and a leather band?
Lange 1
Many of the Pateks
and countless others. In fact, the more expensive watches tend to a leather band rather than stainless, platinum, titanium, etc.
