Rendang is THE Shiznit!
You have to look for Indonesian /Padang /Minang restaurant to enjoy rendang. The problem is, it's pretty scarce on Europe or US compared to Indian / Japanese restaurant.
Somebody on the interweb has listed Padang restaurant which will guarantee the availability of rendang on some of western countries.
Amsterdam, Netherland
  • Sari Citra, Ferdinand Bolstraat, De Pijp
Den Haag, Netherland
  • Salero Minang, Prins Hendrik St.
Rotterdam, Netherland
  • Minangkabau, Plaszoom
  • Dewi Sri, Westerkade
London, UK
  • Warung Padang London, Prince of Wales, Llewellyn St
New York, USA
  • Upi Jaya, Woodside Avenue, Elmhurst
San Fransisco,USA
  • Indonesia, Post St
Los Angeles, USA
  • Indo Kitchen, Fourth St, Alhambra
  • Simpang Asia, National Boulevard
And if you love spicy food, I suggest to try "gulai" (chicken curry) and "dendeng" (beef jerky) in Indonesian / Padang restaurant because for me at least, they're as good as rendang.

I don't know, the top cuisine...? What they ate when the last expedition reached the north pole?

Actually, cuisine is a French word, right? So that.

Why? It is after all much better then sauerkraut.

no it isn't. That's just a stupid assertion. Sauerkraut is fantastic, so is kimchi. They are both very different. There are as many styles and ways to make kraut as there are kimchi.

In my limited experience I've enjoyed sauerkraut more than kimchi. Didn't finish the one kimchi jar I bought before it went bad.

It's supposed to be very easy to DIY sauerkraut. I should look into it, I've done plenty of DIY kitchen stuff...

One of the best German dishes you can eat is fresh deer meat marinated in red wine for at least 24 hours, roasted potatoes with parsley, a balsamic vinegar based salad, and

Red cabbage. Tons of red cabbage.

I would order that in a heart beat.

I won't put you on ignore but your description of middle eastern cuisine wounds me.

P.S. Sushi is gross. :D

re: middle easter cuisine, i'm not wrong, but i might have generalized a bit too much. it's the kind of thing that needs to be done unless you want to get stuck in writing a 10k word post.
you'll find that, when the weather is so hot you think it's trying to kill you, solid food tends to lose its appeal.

re: sushi is not gross. it's a food based not on taste, but rather on texture. you will find many cultures in the orient share this aspect of eating .. the chinese eat things which we would genuinely consider not edible, such as chicken feet.
It's not a matter of starvation-leading-to-habit, but rather they *like* the texture.

I agree with this as I eat lighter foods during the summer and find that more hearty meals can make me sick if the temps are high enough.

conversely, to many Asians the concept of cheese doesn't make sense - you're basically eating controlled mold. You like dry aged beef? You're basically paying for old beef with the mold cut off.

Don't many Asian cultures have some version of "stinky tofu", or just the Chinese?

Of course this is near meaningless since cuisine is completely subjective. But not everything is relative. Most cuisines are objectively better than a Nambian tribe panfrying dayflies with just salt.

I don't wanna say Korean to be obvious (me). So, I wanted to be edgy and say Japanese, but what do you/I really know about their real everyday cuisine outside of sushi & udon? We don't know.

So, I'd like to actually say American. I genuinely think so, aside from fast food & fatty stuff we're laughed at for.

Our cuisine varies amazingly. We have Southern cookin', Louisianan, entire SMOKING culture, AND steak enterprise. I love my Korean food and KBBQ. But you just can't beat an all-american steak-cut slab of meat that's simply seared with amazing creation of sides. You got your lobster rolls, clam chowder, to genuine hamburgers. We dominate this sh1t. And this doesn't even cover the fusion subculture to other ethnic cuisines.

USA food ROCKS.

Yet, many Americans are dangerously obese. 40-60% of the US pop is going to have type 2 diabities in 20 years.

SAD- Standard American Diet
MAD- Modern American Diet

C'mon mang. Our food is good but it's killing us. The best cuisine goes to Thailand. Thai food is the boooomb. I should know. I lived in Bangkok for 6 months.
Lived in Korea for over 2 years. Korean BBQ is bangin son.

But fermented foods is extremely prevalent in Asian culture so they are definitely eating stinky foods

It's like 5 stinky items bro. If it's offensive to Americans it's probably just as polarizing to Asians - eg stinky tofu, durian, natto, hardcore Vietnamese fish sauce

Love stinky tofu. Will not eat durian and natto. I don't know what hard core fish sauce it though I don't mind fish sauce.
